The Tea Detox

Green tea, known for its healing abilities to burn fat, prevent weight gain, improve healthy skin, aid bowel movement, improve brain activities, lower cholesterol, and even fights bad breath. Now the same miracle plant can be used in a tea detox diet to prevent damage from free radicals, toxins and metals that exist and harm us in our environment. Best of all, it is available for cheap purchase.

What is Green Tea?

Green tea, also known as Chinese tea or Japanese tea, is grown and made easy from the Camellia sinensis plant, which leaves are plucked and steam dried to prevent fermentation and destruction of the effective antioxidant power of the catechin polyphenols. These catechins are proven by research to be more capable than Vitamins C and E at protecting the body from damage due to free radicals and toxins existing in the environment. They are also known to prohibit tumor, cancer and fatty acid cells from forming, which helps battle certain diseases and cancers as the cells soon die, as well as weight gain and promote fat loss.

What green tea is most known for, is its detoxification power for fighting against and preventing free radical damage, molecules with unpaired electrons that require an electron to pair with at any cost, to the result of stealing from used and occupied cells and causing energy loss, cell damage or cell death, and even possible damage of DNA. Other toxins and metals that exist in the environment from the pollution effects of a technologically advanced society may also enter the body and cause harm to cells and organs. The effects of the damage brought on by free radicals and other toxins can lead to diseases such as Alzheimer’s and heart disease, to cancers such as that of the colon, lung or skin; as well as cause skin to age and wrinkle, or even lead to physiological effects such as feeling tired, depressed, or drowsy.

Does Green Tea Help Weight Loss?

In relations to weight loss maintenance, it has been researched that the polyphenols of green tea block fatty cells to prevent formation of lipids. Further research on one of the main driving forces, the catechin polyphenol epigallocatechin-3 (EGCG), has been tested more often than green tea itself, as it makes up more than half of the polyphenols. EGCG has been tested on animal subjects where results have shown that it does contribute to suppressing appetite and on both human and animal subjects where EGCG making it a fat burner, lowering fat levels as well as cholesterol.

What IS a tea detox?

Simply put, a free or cheap detox diet that just adds this miracle plant to an existing health plan to further promote and maximize the detoxifying effect towards the body and improve the health state of the body. Adding one or two, or even up to five cups of green tea per day to a plan consisting of proper exercise and nutrition will lead to a numerous amount of benefits that include lowered LDL (bad) cholesterol, increased HDL (good) cholesterol, improved prevention and protection against cardiovascular diseases, lower blood pressure, fighting cancers and tumors, as well as improved overall mental, physical and spiritual well-being and quality of life. A tea detox may also provide benefits toward cartilage and bone growth, fighting dental decay, arthritis and joint inflammation, along with removing odor-causing bacteria in the mouth.

Where can I buy green tea?

Green tea comes in many forms such as green tea pills, tablets, extracts, green tea oil, powder, green tea patch and even green tea soap. It is also used as an ingredient in many recipes ranging from green tea ice cream and scallops to green tea noodles and sodas. Being available in so many forms, this makes the product a great bargain to buy and shop for as anyone is able and ready for intake with little to no interruption.

How to best prepare a tea detox?

The best way to prepare green tea is to allow is to boil water, remove from heat and add in the green tea to remain steeped inside for around 3 to 5 minutes, the longer the time, the higher the amount of polyphenols being released from the leaves. Beware that green tea does contain caffeine, although at a much lower amount than black and oolong and coffee, due to prevention of fermentation. A high dose of caffeine may lead to increased mental activity, and behave as a stimulant that may induce tremors, anxiety, dizziness, vomit, insomnia and other issues. However, there is decaffeinated green tea, and research has shown there is no major effect and difference concerning the antioxidants and polyphenols, this also applies to the varieties in flavors for green tea.

I recommend you not perform a green tea detox by itself, though you may see results, it is fact and for certain that you can increase the potential of improving your health by an exponential amount by siding this detox diet along with a proper (and free) health plan consisting of exercise and nutritional food.

Interesting information. I like green tea-- and recently started to increase my consumption-- but don't like getting up in the middle of the night go to the potty.

P.s. Nicely done first hub.

Thanks for the comment, and I agree with you on the bladder issues. I'm quite paranoid about drinking large quantities of anything :P
