You've already heard about the health benefits of drinking green tea, and many of today's top selling fat burners and appetite suppressants list green tea as a key ingredient.

Green tea has quickly become a popular choice for dieters and health-consicous individuals, and is considered to be a powerful antioxidant and ‘healthy' source of energy. Green Tea Extreme diet pills are just one of the dozens of green-tea based pills on the market, claiming to be the ‘ultimate' fat burner with a unique blend of herbs and green tea extract. But are these fat burners safe? What exactly is in Green Tea Extreme?

The Promises of Green Tea Extreme

Green Tea Extreme diet pills have been heavily promoted through e-mail in recent months, and many advertisements do end up in junk folders. The makers of Green Tea claim to offer one of the most powerful weight loss combinations on the market, but do not provide a list of ingredients anywhere in their sales material.

A closer look at the website also reveals that the majority of the testimonials and quotes from the media are actually about the general benefits of green tea, and not Green Tea Extreme diet pills.

The Green Tea Extreme website also does not provide a comprehensive list of benefits or ingredients, claiming the pills will:

• Help you lose up to 25 pounds in 25 days

• Serve as a high quality nutritional supplement

• Improve cardiovascular function

• Fight fatigue

• Help you maintain healthy cholesterol levels

• Increase the metabolism

Key Ingredients in Green Tea Extreme

The company behind Green Tea Extreme does shed some light on the other ingredients in these pills in the ‘FAQs' section of the website; Citrus Aurantium, and Guarana. Both of these ingredients are found in many fat burners and thermogenic supplements today since they offer a powerful energy boost. Citrus Aurantium (synephrine) continues to be a widely used fat burner, but does pose some health risks and most people experience a number of side effects.

Guarana is an ‘herbal' supplement that contains caffeine and also provides a boost of energy. It can be a powerful diuretic, and may help with water weight loss. However, some people report negative side effects of guarana, and may have experience an allergic reaction.

Potential Side Effects of Green Tea Extreme

The makers of Green Tea Extreme do not even touch upon the potential health problems associated with the synephrine/guarana/green tea blend. Still, many consumers have filed various reports on their negative experiences with each ingredient that include:

• Restlessness

• Anxiety

• Insomnia

• Panic attacks

• Rapid heart rate

• Sweating

• Dizziness

• Nausea

Bottom Line: Green Tea Extreme pills have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and each person will experience a different reaction - and possibly an unhealthy one - to the blend of energy-enhancing ingredients.

Despite the media's positive accolades about green tea, there is not enough evidence available to suggest Green Tea Extreme is safe or valuable to any consumer. The only way to purchase these pills is with a ‘$1 trial offer'; after that, customers are billed for a standing order, and although the company claims to have a customer service department, there is very limited information on how this entire process will be handled.

I talk to my Dr. and he sugested that I should no take just anything that is advertized on the net or TV or anywhere for that matter.
