One of the best ways to supplement your health is with green tea pills. Grown and used by the Chinese and Japanese for over a thousand years, green tea is used to treat a variety of illnesses and conditions.

Green tea contains special compounds that are known to increase metabolism as well as provide a number of additional benefits.

Even thousands of years ago, Chinese and Japanese people knew of the ability of green tea to treat common problems like headaches and much more complicated problems like depression. Modern technological and biomedical advances have helped people's health quite a bit, this ancient remedy has been found to be just as effective as these modern techniques at treating many illnesses and other conditions.

For example, many of the benefits of taking green tea pills include:

- Lower overall cholesterol

- Reduced heart disease risk

- Reduced unwanted blood clot risk

- Reduced Alzheimer's disease risk

- Reduced cancer risk

- Improved insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, and healthier blood sugar levels.

- More active metabolism, increased fat oxidation, and healthier weight

- Higher levels of energy

Many teas have been recommended over the years to help treat fatigue, indigestion, diseases, and improve urinary function. It should be noted, however, that no health care professional would call green tea a cure-all. Tea is simply a healthy beverage that is good for the body. It's very difficult to include every healthy food and beverage in our diet. This is why supplements are very useful, especially green tea.

It has been proven to increase the metabolism. During your daily workout, a certain number of calories will be burnt - however, if you drink green tea or take green tea pills during your workout, the green tea will burn extra calories for you without having to exert any extra effort. Having good habits, a good exercise program, and a balanced diet is also helpful, and will be supplemented by taking green tea pills.

Polyphenols are mainly responsible for the health properties of green tea, and are very potent antioxidants. Polyphenols have even greater antioxidant effects than vitamin C. It should be noted, though, that polyphenols do make the tea taste rather bitter.

These polyphenols are scientifically classified as catechins. Six primary catechin compounds are contained in green tea: catechin, epicatechin, gallocatechin, epigallocatechin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and epicatechin gallate. The most studied of all of these polyphenols is EGCG, and it is also the most active.

You can find and purchase a large variety of different green tea pills and supplements. It is best to find a reputable supplement, one that contains a large amount of EGCG; this is the chemical component that increases your metabolism and, through its antioxidant capabilities, increases your ability to burn fat.

If you find yourself dragging around during the day, green tea pills can give you more energy and a boost to your metabolism; this will help you lose more weight as well as lessen the risk of many types of cancer. Green tea pills are a great addition to your diet, fitness, and nutrition plan and can greatly enhance your overall health.
