Green Tea

Green Tea

Finally the facts are revealed!

Yes, the humble green tea is actually quite beneficial for our health. Apparently it helps you get not only a long life but a healthy one too! It's proven to be a natural way to boost up your metabolism. It has the most effective antioxidants, more effective than black tea. Green tea has a major reputation for keeping people healthy and aiding in weight loss. Green tea has been known for its slimming qualities for thousands of years. It burns fat and boosts metabolism

Apart from that it has got many other ways in which it can be useful:

1. It fights against viral infections

2. It contains fluoride that helps in the prevention of cavities and makes the tooth enamel stronger.

3. It's fabulous as a deodorizer--- in your fridge, for washing your hands as well as the utensils in which you've cooked fish etc.

4. Substitutes as a plant manure – so used tea have other ways to be used up again!

5. Acts as a mosquito repellant when burnt.

6. Excellent for warding off moths in the cupboard by keeping in small sachets. Also takes care of your clothes.

7. Makes such lovely ice cubes to add to juices and iced teas!

8. Makes a lovely skin toner – my personal favorite!

9. A sprinkling of the used and dried tea leaves (in a loose pouch) in your dog's bed will make him smell lovely!

10. Also wards off fleas from cats and dogs.

Although green tea does contain caffeine, too much of which can cause restlessness and sleeping problems. Caffeine content is still less than what you get with black tea. Green tea contains about 20 mg of caffeine per average serving. This is much less than coffee (100-120 mg), and less than Oolong tea (30 mg) and black tea (40 mg).

One point to remember is that you get more health benefits if you brew Green tea yourself rather than buying it in a bottle from a grocery shop. Also you need to keep it refrigerated as this stops healthy antioxidants diminishing over time.
