Green Tea Weight Loss

For overweight people living in the world today there are hundreds upon thousands of various weight loss pills, routines, and exercises designed to help the person loose the excess fat that is stored within their body. However as you may have guessed most of these pills contain products that are purely chemical and hence the fact that they may not be the very best thing for you to be putting into your body. Along those same lines, many of the exercise and various routines that are being spammed all over the late night infomercials are either incapable of doing what they say they can do, or they are simply workouts that people are already doing, and just meant as a way for someone to buy a product. With that in mind people are looking more and more to better; natural products that are sure to perform the same duties and have the same benefits as the pure chemical brands, while still allow you to maintain overall good health. The substance that I am referring to is that of green tea.

What is Green Tea?

Green Tea is one of the three main teas (others include black and oolong) and is also the tea which contains the highest concentration of antioxidants known as polyphenols. Antioxidants work to eliminate free radicals that may be floating around in the body. Free radicals occur naturally in the body as well as in the environment that we live in. These radicals are believed by scientists to activate the aging process as well as contribute to health problems such as cancer and heart disease. With that in mind, it should be pretty clear that drinking green tea for the health benefits alone should be enough to get you started. But what about its weight loss capabilities?

Green Tea Weight Loss

Generally when you hear an overweight individual talking, you will hear something like “My metabolism is to slow.” this is the reasoning for why they are obese. However with the advent of green tea it would seem that this can no longer be an excuse. Clinical studies have shown that drinking green tea in addition to some sort of caffeine helps to boost the metabolism and burn fat very effectively. This is made possible by the polyphenols specifically the catechins within the green tea leaf itself.

Other Benefits of Green Tea

The fact of the matter with the world that we live in today is the fact that cancer is around us everywhere we go. In general every family in the United States has been affected in some way shape or form by cancer, and while doctors are busy trying to find a cure, we may have a short term cure amongst us already. Green tea has been shown to help reduce the risk of certain types of cancer including breast and bladder cancers. Again the reasoning for this is the polyphenols that are contained within the green tea leaf. Other benefits include a decrease in the ability to obtain liver disease and diabetes. Also, as of late, researchers are finding that consuming green tea may even help to prevent/cure tooth decay.

It seems pretty clear that green tea is a very powerful and worthwhile drink for everyone. Whether you are using it to help boost your metabolism or for its clear benefits regarding various health risks; green tea should definitely be a staple in your daily routine.
