Introduction

Although green tea has been used for thousands of years for its health benefits, it has just recently been re-discovered for its ability to help people lose weight. Green tea is made by steaming fresh green tea leaves, which preserves many more of the antioxidants than does the process of making black tea. In fact, the active ingredient in green tea is something called ECGC. This component of green tea has a very unique property; it can help your body to oxidize and burn fat. In addition to this health benefits it also helps to boost the metabolism and reduce the appetite. In this article you will learn what exactly makes green tea so good for you, what forms you can buy it in, and I will spend a few minutes in the last paragraph summarizing my experience with green tea and weight loss.

The Many Forms

Green tea can be bought in many forms today; some these include pills, dried tea leaves, green tea extract weight loss, and premade tea.

I personally like to take the pills because they are very convenient. Each pill typically contains the same amount of antioxidants and ECGC as does a glass of green tea. In addition to convenience, taking green tea in pill form can also save you money since it is generally much cheaper than fresh made tea.

If you are interested in buying dried leaves and making tea yourself at home, you can do this as well. You can find many websites online which offer detailed directions on how to make fresh green tea.

Last, you can buy premade 20 ounce bottles at most convenience stores. These, while expensive, are very convenient, not to mention tasty.

My Experience

As I said earlier in this article I personally have used green tea in the past to lose weight, and I still use it today to maintain my weight.

I started out using dried green tea leaves to make the tea myself, but later I realized that it was very inconvenient and much more expensive than other options that were available. After some experimentation, I decided to go with green tea weight loss pills because they promised the same health benefits as the first tea, but cost a fraction of the price.

If you're new to green tea and you have not ever tried it before I would suggest that you try some fresh green tea before you jump into the pills because it really is a very delicious beverage.

Conclusion

In this article you have learned what some of the health benefits of green tea are, and you have learned what forms you can buy green tea in. In addition to this, I have offered a short summary of my experience with green tea in order to show you that it actually does work, at least it does for me.
