Easiest way to copy a picture is to use a grid. I mean copy, but you have to draw this copy by yourself. So take an interesting picture. Draw horizontal and vertical lines on the picture that you have selected. Number each section of the lines. For example, number vertical lines and letter the horizontal lines.

Now, take black sheet of paper. Draw the same line on the blank sheet of paper. Don’t forget to number them. If you want to draw a bigger picture, make sure that the squares on the blank sheet are bigger. The bigger the squares the bigger picture will be.

The materials to use are simple. Take a number 2 pencil, ruler, eraser, and pencil sharpener. If you like drawing in color, take color pencils, or any other coloring materials for shading.

Another way to prepare your picture is draw the lines on the computer and print the picture out. Make sure that you drew thinner lines. When lines are thick it would be harder for you to see the details.

Don’t draw a large squares on the picture that you will be drawing. It will be hard for you to draw the picture because of the large squares. Especially when you try to draw a face or something in detail.

There is really no technique. You can start wherever you want. There is no guide lines. You can even start on A1 and move to B1, it’s totally up to you.

All you have to do is to copy the squares. Whatever you see in the square on the picture draw the same thing on the blank sheet of paper. This is why I recommended to draw smaller squares.

When you draw the squares exactly and everything in the squares, you will have exact picture drawn by you. At first time the picture might not come out exactly the same. Don’t worry, because it happens with everyone. 2^nd or 3^rd time you will get it right. Once you get it right, you will get it right all the time.

All you need to do is to get a feel of it. You have to practice a few times and that’s it.
