About Grist Mills

When you see an old Grist Mill you are taken back in time to simply times where everything was slow paced and peaceful.

These are beautiful structures that used to grind corn for cornmeal and wheat for flour. Most of these were water operated, and were quite an invention given the technology of the times.

The Fred Yenerall collection has many photos of old grist mills. These are some beautiful photos of grist mills. All are available for purchase, but it's free to look around. There are mills from many different states each one is clearly marked and dated as to when the photo was taken.

These photos are available for puchase at The Fred Yenerall collection website.

Get your own digital camera to start capturing memories. If it wasn't for my grandfather's insight to take photos, I wouldn't have the pleasure of looking at all these photos and images now. Which I think the photos are awesome. There are some great sales going on right now at Ritz Camera. He bought all his equipment there to take the photos. I absolutely love this store.
