The will to get taller after adolesence haunts thousands of individuals world wide and so many think that it's a far off dream. That dream where some day they won't need to go thru the hell that being shorter than everybody else brings. Though so many vertically challenged people are way more than capable of excelling at what ever they choose, that does not stop others making a different and inaccurate judgement.

More frequently than not, regardless of what our short friend does, it is quite often overlooked and when that person does something brilliant, buddies and workmates look on in astonishment as if what they have achieved is impossibility. Reactions like this, you might think helps our vertically challenged mate to lift his or hers self esteem, but more frequently than not it turns to hate. It's one thing to be respected for a great feat if you aren't considered to have a handicap.

But to be praised for achieving something as you are said to be over a barrel, particularly since it's a handicap in the iris of the observer is damn provoking. The various jkes and Nicknames or buddies use to refer to us. Worse however is when you come across those not so friendly who plough in with not so loving names. A famous exclaiming goes sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me, that is all well and good, but does not hold water here.

They can appear safe but to you and me, they are definitely a consistent reminder of what we desperately desire to flee.

A large amount of folks would say, lets build up your self confidence. Let's visualise, lets start being more positive, "everyday in everyway I get taller and taller." So should we give up our get taller quest? Shut the blinds, lock the door to our dreams and dump the key. The above measures pretty rarely work, there are some clever tricks out there but the majority of the time they don't bring lasting change and are just temporary. But the mind is a clever bunny and claims "no way, your not at all, everything isn't ok"."If everything is ok why you trying so hard?". It stops your everybody targeting what they think are your handicaps and by the nature of your progression fills you full of a new zest for life full of confidence.
