Guacamole Dip

Ingredients :

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • juice of 2 lemons or limes
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) salt (optional)
  • 2 large onions, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) curry powder
  • pinch cayenne
  • few drops Tabasco sauce (optional)
  • chopped red chili peppers, to garnish
  • taco or corn chips, to serve

Procedure :

  1. Mash avocados with fork or blend in food processor.
  2. Add lemon juice and salt.
  3. Add remaining ingredients to avocado. Cover with plastic wrap and chill to serve.
  4. Spoon into 2 bowls before serving. Garnish with chopped red chili peppers.
  5. Serve with taco chips and vegetable sticks.

For this Mexican famous dish look for very ripe avocados. If preparing in advance, mash avocados with a wooden spoon and store the finished guacamole in a jar with the avocado pits. This will prevent discoloration.

Makes about 4 cups (1 L)
