When you are a student you rarely have a good credit on your name and also don’t have an established credit history. You also don’t have a lot of money in your student life and then it becomes hard to pay for your school. Being a student it is also very hard to get a good credit score.

Luckily, now several options are available for students to sort out such financial problems. Here, we are providing you with some important information that can help you to learn about the various ways you can opt for in different financial situations

Stafford loans are federal government created the programs and it also backs the loans. These loans are considered to be the best student loans. Here you need not be worried about your credit score. The government takes on the risk and there is no credit check for the subsidized Stafford loans.

However, the interest rates for Subsidized Stafford Loans are also not determined over your credit history.

The other good feature of subsidized Stafford loans is that the government pays your interest while you’re in school and you will not find this feature with any other loan. Here you need not to make any payments until you finish your education and you also get a time period of six months after your school to start making payments.

If you will compare the interest rates of these loans with other loan types then these loans will beat anything else.

Perkins Loans is another type of loans which is backed by the federal government. These loans are only availed only to the students who extremely need financial aid for their education.

The unsubsidized Stafford loans are a much similar to the subsidized loans. However, in unsubsidized Stafford loans the government doesn’t make your interest payments while you are pursuing your education.

Your qualification for these loans doesn’t depend on your credit history as these loans are backed by the federal government itself. It is easier to get Stafford loans than obtaining a student loan with no credit.

A certain simple process is there to apply for these loans. You need to fill up a document that’s called a FAFSA which can be filled online or can be obtained from the financial aid office at your school. The approval is always based on the need of the student. In case you or your parents earn enough to afford your education then it can be a problem in approval. Moreover, if in past you have ever defaulted on a student loan then that may also be a cause of disapproval.
