Breath Meditation

Breath meditation is simply meditating on your breath, or simply focusing on your breath. Yes it really can be that easy.

The great thing with breath meditation is that it can be done for any amount of time, whether you have just a few seconds or many hours. It is also easily combined with other types of meditation for greater benefit. Doing a meditation that takes a long time? Combine with breath meditation to get into the meditative state faster thus saving a lot of time. Feeling low on energy? Combine with golden or light meditation for a quick boost. Down on your health? Combine with healing meditation for immediate relief.

While many types of meditation need you to find a quite place and a good amount of time. You can do breath meditation anywhere, anytime you have a few moments to spare. (Caution not to be done while driving or operating machinery. Sorry just had to put that there.) Also unlike with other types there is no complicated ending sequence that you have to do in order to properly end the meditation. When you are done simply stop and continue with whatever else you have to do.

Steps to breath meditation:

  1. Get into a comfortable position, for short meditations you can remain in your same position, just get a more relaxed posture.

  2. Concentrate on your breathing. breath in, hold, breath out, hold and so on

  3. Disregard all external noise and internal thoughts, whenever a thought comes up just don't on that but on your breathing.

  4. continue for as long as you want.


Combining with light meditation

Start with breath meditation. As you breath in “see” the air you breath in filled with bright white light and feel it filling up inside you. Then breathe out normally. Feel it filling you up starting from the feet and continue to the head. This is also called golden meditation if the air is seen to be golden instead of white.


Combining with healing meditation.

Similarly start with breath meditation. As you breathe in “see” the air filled with bright white or golden light, feel this light moving to the affected area or areas. As you breathe out feel air filled with dark energy/ disease moving out and away from you.


Note: Please look for full instructions of golden or healing meditation before doing as I have not detailed it fully here as this is about breath meditation.


Combining with any other type of meditation.

You can combine with virtually any type of mediation, just start with breath meditation to quickly get into the meditative state then switch to your type of meditation.

Nice hub, If only more people to the time out of their stressful lives to meditate the world would be a better place.
