Guinea Pig Diet
56 Guinea pigs are sensitive creatures that need to be cared for properly or their health may be affected. They are not like dogs where you can just come in and eat whatever they want when they want. You need to put them on a diet guinea pig, and promise not to complain because of it. Not adhering to the advice in this article may cause serious health problems for your little Guinea, so beware!
Guinea pigs are fussy little creatures who easily get angry or stressed when things are not the norm. They know when they were fed first and then expect to be fed with a precise schedule for the duration of their lives. So every day when you clean their cage, you should also feed them. Any change in the pattern will make them upset, so do the best we can to make sure you get fed when you have finished cleaning the cage.
A diet depends on the personality of your guinea pig Guinea. Each Guinea has things they like and dislike. You will know why only eat what they usually do not want. The best thing to do is to test some different foods on your guinea to see that he or she prefers most. Be careful with fruits and vegetables as you give your guinea, because too will give them diarrhea. Start with small portions and not over feed them.
There are some things that absolutely can not include in a diet guinea pig. Meat, milk, corn, sweet potatoes, beans, and iceberg lettuce are just some of the things that you never feed it. Some things that your Guinea can eat are: apples, carrots, spinach, cabbage, oranges, and Timothy hay.
What you want to feed them even if most, and what I propose is the day Timothy and pellet food. These are generally cheap and you can find them at about any pet store. Timothy hay is also sleeping great, and it is good for the diet guinea pig. So they can eat their own bed!
No matter what, though, stay away from potato peelings! You could poison your pet, so there is no reason to risk it. And you should also avoid any kind of treatment that combines nuts, seeds, and dyeing. This will give the Guinea some serious stomach problems, so look at the ingredients before buying anything.
A diet guinea pig is closely dependent on what and when to feed them. If you take something from this article, just remember that they like to be fed with a program and be real careful to give them to eat the right foods.
