Guitar Hero is the #1 best-selling video game franchise of 2008, and now it's released a greatest hits style installment of its wildly fun game! Guitar Hero Smash Hits was released to the United States on June 16, 2009, and June 26, 2009 to Europe and Australia. It's the fourth expansion game in the popular "Guitar Hero" series. The highly entertaining and social music performance game includes a total of 48 different songs which are compiled from the five previous guitar hero games:

Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

Guitar Hero Smash Hits is currently available for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 video game systems.

Just like Guitar Hero World Tour you'll get support for a four instrument band in this new installment of Guitar Hero. You can join 3 friends on lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocal. The storyline of the game involves a career mode similar to other Guitar Hero games. In Smash Hits, a "God of Rock" will challenge you and your bandmates to play at various venues from the "Wonders of the World". Once a venue has been played successfuly, the players can earn clothing items to pimp out their characters. You'll also earn stars in order to proceed from one level to the next in this game.

Yes, sometimes it's fun to bend the rules, especially in video games!  Here are some helpful cheat codes you can use in the Guitar Hero Smash Hits game.

To access these cheats, at the main menu you'll need to choose "Options", "Cheats", "Enter New Cheat".  Next, enter one of the following codes to unlock the corresponding cheat option. If you entered the code correctly, you'll see a message will appear.

Press Green(2), Red (2), Blue(2), Yellow(2).

Press Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Green, Yellow, Red(2).

Press Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green to unlock additional Line 6 effects in the Music Studio.
