Though the long and full fancy title may get you a bit confused, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is a music video game and the upcoming third full installment in the Guitar Hero series, a popular game franchise. Published by Red Octane, publisher of guitar hero I and II, the company has now been purchased Activision and will now on be developed by neversoft entertainment. The publishers of this game suggest that guitar hero III is definitely going to be one of the greatest games ever for consumers. The phenomenal success obtained from guitar hero and guitar hero II has inspired the company to come up with this third version of the game. Nerve-tingling excitement and adventure in this game is sure to give the players a strong rush of adrenaline.

The game is due to be released in early 2008 and is stated to feature wireless controllers as well as online multiplayer and downloadable content. The other features will be new wireless controllers shaped like a Gibson Les Paul (PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360) and Kramer (PlayStation 2) models, along with removable faceplates that will allow players to personalize their guitar. The online play feature will also extend to the Wii version, as announced by Nintendo at the 2007 conference. The third version of the game is being introduced with some alterations from the previous versions so that the players get the maximum fun and entertainment. It is assumed that though the game play has not been changed, the graphical display of Star Power and the streak/multiplier meter has been altered.
