This is an issue near and dear to my heart.  As a gun enthusiast I do not understand the reasoning behind some of the ideas about guns.  They are only an object, stop putting a personality on the object and start putting responsibility on its user.  First of all we cannot disregard the fact that this is primarily a democratic issue.  The first thing I would do if I wanted to control a large group of people is disarm them.  This would make it a lot easier to dictate policy wouldn’t it?

This country was built on guns.  We wouldn’t have the right to bear arms without them.  Am I the only one that seems to realize this?  If I have no intention on ever shooting another person than why does it matter if I own guns? 

Gun laws are like any other law; they only pertain to the people that follow them.  I would bet if you were to do a study on how many people were shot last year with legally owned guns compared to illegally owned guns you would find that it is not the average sportsman that enjoys hunting that is committing crimes with his gun.  Gun registration is a form of control and would only affect law abiding citizens that would comply.  Personally I would not register a gun that I planned on killing someone with so it would be easy to track me down.  I may be wrong but I don’t think most people would. 

Have you ever wondered if these politicians that think this stuff up really believe that it’s a good idea?  Nobody can be that stupid.  What happens after the government has all the guns and they see that people are still getting killed?  What comes next?  Lets see, maybe the knives should go and while they are at it all hand tools in general.  The cars should really go; they kill more people every year than cancer.  What about Baseball Bats, they make real good weapons and let’s not forget anything made out of glass.  It could be broken and used to cut with.  Plastic bags of any kind need to go because they can be used to suffocate someone with.  Even small sandwich bags because you could use them to kill someone with a real little head.

If you are beginning to think that this sounds ridiculous and it would have no end you are right and that is the whole point.  The bottom line is whenever the government mentions gun control they are being half honest with what it is they really want; just plain control.

I have an idea that would put an end to this whole gun issue.  My idea is reverse gun control.  We make it a law that everybody has to own at least one.  Better yet, the government could issue them, one per household.  After a short period of time I believe that everyone that wants to shoot some one will have done it and that in and of itself will have eliminated most of the problem.  It would actually leave so few of the riff raff left that the rest of us could easily find them and shoot them, problem solved.  I think we could also give the police departments a month or two off during this process.  After all, I am sure that there are a lot of policemen that have one or two people they would like to shoot without wasting a lot of the courts time.  I think it would be amazing on how much crime in the long run that this would cut down on.  Yes a few innocent by standers would be killed but look at it this way, they are going to get killed anyway, it happens every day.

If this idea seems remotely absurd to most of you than that is a good thing.  It proves you are not quite as stupid as your government thinks you are.  The government would lead you to believe that by disarming all of us we would somehow be safer.  This will be true as soon as breaking the law becomes legal or someone is afraid to shoot you because they don’t want to get in trouble for having a gun.
