Not all Round Timers are Created Equal

Having a small round timer or interval timer is one of the best pieces of equipment you can buy for your mma, boxing, or grappling training. If you do a quick search on the internet you will find tons of large professional timers geared for competition - go for the small personal type no bigger than a pager. Unfortunately, there are suprisingly few personal interval timers to choose from. There are really only two readily available personal round timers. The Everlast round timer and the GymBoss timer.

OMFG Which One!?!?

Okay, so I like everyone else one the planet would want to buy the Everlast timer. It looks cooler and it's a brand I recognize. It looks cool. The Gymboss on the other hand looks like a kids calculator. So which one is "better"?

EVERLAST

First of all the Everlast timer is a piece of junk that looks nice. That's putting it nicely. This thing is so cheaply made that it broke on me within a week. I was very disappointed. The problem is that this is the most readily available interval timer for under $30.

GYMBOSS

A nice alternative, albeit not as "cool" is the Gymboss. It looks like a generic pager, but hey...it flat out works. All this and it's cheaper than the Everlast timer. At under $25, it is the best personal interval timer for boxing, grappling, and mma out there on the market. So if you are torn between the Everlast timer and this one (as I was) do the right thing and avoid "cool" for flat out functionality.
