Why Gynecomastia Surgery Alone Will Not Cure Gynecomastia

Many times the common cure for gynecomastia is surgery. The surgery is a combination of liposuction and glandular excision that is performed through a small hole on the border of the nipple area. Heed caution to any physician that claims that liposuction alone will cure the gynecomastia as many well known surgeons claim otherwise. They claim that liposuction alone will only result in smaller breasts. Top surgeons also claim that there should only be slight scarring left that is almost completely unnoticeable after about one year.

This surgery is performed under a local anesthetic and the first step is the procedure of the liposuction to remove the fatty components. Then the next step is a small incision made at the lower border of the areola, here the glandular tissue is removed all the way to under the arm. Then a suction drain is usually inserted for the first few days after surgery to prevent the retention of fluids. A few dissolvable stitches are used and many times the doctor will require you to wear a constrictive vest for a few weeks. This helps to control skin shrinkage.

There are certain requirements that the surgeon will insist on for a few weeks before surgery which will include staying completely off of any anabolic drugs because they increase the possibilities of surgical complications that include slowing blood clotting and increased blood pressure. Further, some anabolic drugs can also alter the liver enzymes which can cause a negative impact on the anesthesia.

It has been proven that there are only a few things that can be done to cure gynecomastia completely. First, see your doctor and explain to him what is going on. He will then go through a thorough medical history with you and will be able to rule some possibilities out completely and focus on those that might really be the problem. The doctor can really not do much until this is conducted because at this point it is still like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Next, try some herbal supplements and a have a routine comprised of better foods and exercises targeting losing fat and more importantly fat in your chest. This is the one that will likely be the most effective as it means you making a sincere lifestyle change. Diet and exercise can not be emphasized enough when you are dealing with gynecomastia. With a little research you will find that there are certain foods that actually help to burn chest fat. There are also specific exercises that work on the areas that are affected by gynecomastia.
