HBK Shawn Michaels Retiring Final WWE Match
74Is Shawn Michaels retiring
First off let me just say that I have heard no legitimate rumors of Shawn Michaels retiring. The reason this is on my mind is the latest skit that he is in with Chris Jerhico teasing Shawn Michaes retiring, which means that it is more than likely on his mind. Although I am almost certain that he will not be retiring anytime soon, I just wanted to put this out there as it seems to have allot of people wondering.
Did you know?
HBK has headlined wrestlemania more times than Hulk Hogan
The greatest superstar in wrestling history
Its been said by many (including myself) that Shawn Michaels aka The Heartbreak Kid is the greatest superstar of all time for many different reasons. Being a wrestler requires many talents of which two are a must. They must be incredibly athletic and they must be creative with their skits (the build up of the match).
Wrestlers obviously need to be very athletic to perform the job in the ring. However, most people overlook the fact that there skits are equally important. The skits building up their matches are the selling point of wrestling's pay per views.
Most wrestling superstars usually stand out when they are talented at at-least one of these areas. A few such as The Rock, and Triple H have had very successful careers as wrestlers with talents in both of these areas.
Before the success of The Rock, and Triple H and before the popularity that wrestling has today, HBK was a complete stand out in these areas. He was (and still is) one of the most athletic superstars to ever step in the ring. Bringing a number of moves such as the moonsault (back flip from the top rope) to the business. He also revolutionized a number of matches such as the ladder match, which usually involves a championship belt being hung just in reach from a ladder and the wrestler that climbs the ladder to gain position of the championship first being named the winner.
A wrestler almost always performs as either a heel or a baby face, heel being the "good guy" and baby face being the 'bad guy'. Many fans actually overlook the fact that the guy they absolutely hate (the heel) is actually getting paid to make you hate him. He may cheat, talk badly about the fans, lie etc. The point of all of this is that they want you to hate him so much that you will pay to see him get his but kicked. Shawn Michaels is one of the few in the business to be a major success at both of these rolls. Along with Triple H, he formed the stable degeneration x (dx) as heels which later became one of the most popular stables in the history of the business.

On the subject of Shawn Michaels retiring
As a die hard HBK fan I never want to turn on monday night raw without seeing Shawn Michaels wrestling, as a matter of fact, after the first Shawn Michaels retirement I no longer kept up with the business or even watched the shows for a couple of years. The fact is however, Shawn is now 43 years old and has suffered many injuries including the back injury which put him out of action for four years, and numerous knee injuries. Wrestlers in the WWE can also be on the road over 240 days per year which makes it hard for him to spend time with his wife and two children.
Ultimately when it comes to the subject of Shawn Michaels retiring the decision is his. Once again I want to point out that I have heard no rumors of an actual Shawn Michaels retirement, but I'm sure especially with the latest skits on raw that he has started to weigh the options.
The perfect Shawn Michaels retirement match
Shawn Michaels has held the world championship 4 times the last of which was in 2002. 6 years is a long dry streak for such a decorated super star, and I just can't see HBK retiring without one more WWE title run. In my opinion a fifth championship is long overdue, and I would like to see him go out on top. Wrestlemania is the biggest pay-per-view in the business, and some of his most memorable matches has been with the undertaker, who just so happens to hold a undefeated streak at wrestlemania.
I'm sure everyone knows where I'm going with this by now, and of course the Undertaker would have to be the world champion at the time. Here goes! HBK vs. the Undertaker at wrestlemania for the world heavy weight championship in a 60 minute iron man match, which is the same way Shawn won his first wwf championship. HBK and the Undertaker have performed some of the greatest matches of all time, so why not? HBK defeats the Undertaker in a 60 minute iron man match for the WWE championship, breaking the long wrestlemania undefeated streak of the undertaker. The following night on monday night raw could be the official Shawn Michaels retirement, as the WWE champion.
Of course this is my opinion and I welcome your comments below.

shawn can only put break on undetaker's winning streak in wrestlemania,, HBK ll live foreva in heart of wwe fans,, well said rohit
There have been talks about his streak coming to an end this year, but they are leaning towards a up and coming superstar to do it. To me that would be crap! If HBK doesn't do it than no one should.
All they are doing with HBK now is trying use him to make the other wrestlers look good and use shawn's age as the excuse. However Vince, taker both have held titles in the past couple of years. Shawn even had to put over hogan who is old as dirt, and isn't even a part of the show anymore! So why put him over? They are waisting good talent.
i agree with the last HBK match .
Interesting idea, but I don't like it. For one, it's not going to happen in regards to there being a championship in the mix obviously. For another. Undertaker has been in the business as long as HBK and I don't like Undertaker jobbing to Michaels, even for his last match. The streak shouldn't be broken as that's something that stays with the fans. The streak being broken won't stay with fans decades down the road. It would be interesting if Michaels went out on top, but not at the expense of the Undertaker. And remember that Flair put Michaels over for his retirement, maybe Michaels should do the same for someone like Jericho or another younger, but well established, star.
Well I hate to tell you but it looks like great minds think alike because the match is confirmed for wrestlemania the only difference is HBK isn't retiring, but taker is jobbing to michaels this year unless plans change.
hey undertaker won shawn michaels at wrestlemania
dude shawn michaels havent showed up since wrestlemania 25 with getting beat by undrtaker, injury or retirement???!?

Michaels really deserves one more title reign. I hope me main events next years wrestlemania 26. I really cant imagine monday night raw without the heartbreak kid, the showstopper, the main event, the headliner, MR. WRESTLEMANIA. It really will be a dark day in the wwe the day Michaels retires. Flair be a 16-time world champion, Triple H may be a 13-time world champion, but deep in their hearts they know that Michaels was, and is, and will forever be a better wrestler than them combined. Thats why Ric Flair never ceaces to mention Shawn's greateness in the ring. The man is a phenom, and for me, the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots. Wish him the very best......

u guys r dum and thats all i gotta say
hbk is the best why in the world whould he retire
the BOY TOY is no match for the DEAD MAN!
17-0
The perfect retirement for HBK is a classical wrestling match at WrestleMania 26 Vs Triple H for the WWE Championship
HBK is the best wrestler ever!!!!!!!! y did he have to retire =( monday night raw hasn`t been the same without shawn =(
as an hbk fan i do think its unfair that he hasn't been champion in so long but i dnt think the streak should ever be broken shawn should get the title from someone way over rated like john cena and show the world how good he is
I was never ever interested in wrestling until I saw HBK wrestle, so I really hope he does not retire.
You don't just beat the streak and retire the next day. Thats insulting to the Undertaker and every wrestler who faced him at Mania before. They all dream of beating the streak and fail yet you want Shawn to up and beat the streak like it's nothing and leave.
@the dude above me named "SUUUUUUUP": its because Shawn deserves that honor more than anybody in the business of professional wrestling... Mr.Wrestlemania is not his nickname dude, he really is...!!
As for Shawn's retiring:
man i really dont remember when did i cry last time but i swear to you i've stored so much emotions, memories & respect for the greatest pro-wrestler ever Shawn Michaels that his retirement will definetly bring tears to my eyes, for God's sakes WWE doesnt even exist without him... his retirement farewell ceremony (imagine Tell Me A Lie playing there) would be the most awaited thing on television..!!
Shawn Michaels for WWE Champion... (atleast 1 time dammit)
