The reason I'm writting:
I have recently read a very "interesting" Hub Page. "Hey Americans, you're not the kings of the world!" by joaojeronimo. This was a very informative piece. But so filled with crap I felt compelled to open this hub. This had to be the most narrow minded, hatefull, ignorant, hate spewing, moronic individual I have ever had the displeasure of reading. He decided to bash all the people in the United States of America from WWII up to the present. I believe in free speech and the right of each human on this great earth to speak their mind. But DO NOT TELL OUTRIGHT LIES to our faces!! I have read his article and the responses to said article. This man hates the people in this country and almost everything that we do.
ABOUT WHAT HE SAID:some reasons he thinks we should be ashamed of ourselves.
#2. On his list: We(the usa) invented the Atomic Bomb. First, let me tell you this. He said, and I qoute "Einstein isn't even born in America, and if he was, I'm not sure if he would have the genius gens it took to make him successful as he was. Maybe because of living in America he got contaminated by some sort of American illness that would later make him invent the atomic bomb and tell president Roosevelt about it."(end quote) I've got some heart stopping news for this poor little man from Maputo, Mozambique. Einstein DID NOT INVENT THE ATOMIC BOMB!!! He had a theory about nuclear fission. The Manhattan Project was ran by Gen. Leslie R. Groves(1896-1970) and it was developed by J. Robert Oppenheimer(1904-1967). Oppenheimer ran the Los Alamos Research center and help build the first A-bomb. He did work with Einstein. The man that informed Pres. Roosevelt with the Einstein-Szilard letter on Aug. 2 1939 was Leo Szilard, Edward Teller, Eugene Wigner. Albert Einstein signed the letter after the fact because Szilard, Teller, and Wigner didn't think they had enough pull to convience the President that the Nazi's had split the atom. Why is this important? Because that makes MR. joaojeronimo wrong on two counts already!! And we've just got started with our ignorance here,LOL.
Mr. joaojeronimo also said that America invented the BOMB. But by his thinking, since as he said and i qoute "Einstein isn't even born in America"(end qoute). By the way, none of the top scientist on the Manhattan Project were born in America. In fact, they were'nt even citizen's of the USA. SO, by Mr. joaojeronimo's thinking the Germans actually developed the A-bomb in the USA with US money. GET YOUR LIES STRAIGHT joaojeronimo!!!
THE UNITED STATES DIDN'T LAND ON THE MOON!!!
#3 on Mr. joaojeronimo's list was the fact that aparently he thinks everyone in the USA thinks we were the first ones in space and didn't land on the moon. He said "You were not the first in space and most of the people say you were even not the first on the moon and everything was shot in a studio...". We as United States Citizen's know we were not the first into space. The Russian's were the first to launch a man-made object into space and the first to orbit the earth. THAT'S COMMON KNOWLEDGE MR.GENIUS! But since you don't know your history, here is a lesson for you. Oct. 4 1957 Sputnik I Orbits the earth, Nov. 3 1957 Sputnik II carring Laika(a dog) orbits the earth, May 15 1958 Sputnik III Orbits the earth. April 12 1961 Yuri Gagarin FROM RUSSIA orbits the earth(OMG! they were first!) Feb. 2 1962 John Glenn FROM the USA orbits the earth! Just so you think we can't admit it, there it is. We we were'nt the first to orbit the earth. This news will be an ending factor in the evolution of man kind as we know it. AMERICANS DID'T ORBIT EARTH FIRST! Okay, on to the moon! MR. joaojeronimo seems to think in is undergrowth of a brain that the UNITED SATES of AMERICA did not and has not landed on the moon. Someone, I beg you! Please tell the thousands of geologist, lunar geologist, and all the others that the moon rock samples that they have been studing for the past 40yrs were made in a lab!! OH. we can't forget that MR. joaojeronimo seems to think that since there is no wind on the moon(he is right on that) that the flag planted their cannot move!! Have you ever heard "an object in motion tends to stay in motion until acted upon by an equal and opposite force? Of course you haven't. That would have to have been made up also. When the flag was planted and then let go it's still moving. Why? because there is very little friction on the moon to stop it! Also, "energy" from the sun(if the sun really exsist in his world) can move the flag also. Do some studing on physics pal!!
ASSASSINATING WORLD MUSIC WITH HIP-HOP
#5 on MR. joaojeronimo's list of why we are so evil. Is that we are sending out RAP and Hip-hop music. This must be destroying his culture and all the good cultures of the world. IF ONLY WE DIDN"T MAKE EVERYBODY LISTEN TO IT BY HOLDING GUNS TO THEIR HEADS. Remember. we are suppose to be the most powerful country in the world, so it's got to be our fault. We have sent assassins across the world!!!! You will listen to this American crap or die!! Yeah, that must be it. Look joaojeronimo. I don't like rap and hip-hop either. But guess what....CHANGE THE DAMN CHANNEL!!
WE SHOULDN'T BE PROUD OF WWII!! oh hell know he didn't!
#7 on MR. joaojeronimo's list is the fact that he thinks we don't know our own history and that we didn't save the world in some part during WWII. He seems to think that the USSR did it all by themselves. Good God, we could've stayed home and played baseball or something instead of sticking our noses in the middle of a WORLD WAR!! First, you need to look up the term World War in the dictionary(or have someone else do it for you). As a Veteran of the Persian Gulf War this one got my shorts in a bunch. MR. joaojeronimo. You are about to get a history lesson. Our friend MR. joaojeronimo seems to hate the USA so much that he can't get his lies straight. Well, let me help! In 1939 Germany invades Poland and takes it within days. Shotly there after the Soviets invade Finland and were viewed by many as entering WWII on the side of the Germans. The Soviet Union was then voted out of The League of Nations. By the mid-1940's the USSR's occupation of the Baltic's was completed with the installation of a pro-Soviet government. The Soviet Union actually expressed interest in joining the Axis powers in Sept. of 1940 after Germany, Italy, and Japan signed the TRIPARTITE PACT(look it genius). Russia sent a modified draft of the pact to Germany in Nov. 1940 and offered a very favourable economic deal for Germany. Remember. Russia is doing this while attacking other countries that were against the Axis powers. BUT WAIT! It gets better. In April 1942 Germany and Russia sign a neutrality agreement. Of course Germany attacks the Soviets not long after. By Dec. 1941 the Germans have reach Stalingrad, Moscow, and other major cities Russia. So. Of course our "loyal" Russian friends sign the Atlantic Charter Alliance with 25 other Allied countries against the Axis. They didn't adhere fully to the alliance and kept their neutrality agreement with Japan. Imagine that. Early 1942 Soviet Offensive in Kerch Pennisula and Kharkov were defeated. Between 1942 and 1944 the Russians and Germans are fighting at Stalingrad, Kursk, and other major cities. Let's see, America is fighting on about 4 fronts and the Soviets are fighting on 1 front. Yep, they seem to be winning the war by themselves alright. Short time line:Feb. 1945 British & Americans eneter Germany. March 1945 American & British cross the Rhine north and south. April 1945 Allies push into Italy and sweep across western Germany. Late April 1945 Soviets enter Berlin. We all linked up at the Elbe River 25th April 1945. The United States Fought Japan for 3 more months with no help from the Russians. Remember they signed an alliance to help! Then we dropped the BOMB on Hiroshima Aug 6, 1945(little boy 140,000 dead) and Nagasaki Aug 9, 1945(Fatboy 100,000 dead). AGAIN MR. joaojeronimo you are wrong! I do think that is about 5 times now? As far as the bomb goes, the reason it was dropped is because they estimated that the United States would lose about 2.5 million soldiers in an invasion of Japans homeland and that Japan would lose about 7 million. We actually saved lives by using the BOMBS. I'm not any happier about using them than anyone else. Their are about 9 million people that should be happy. MR. joaojeronimo said "Probably not knowing your own history and therefore thinking you should be proud of WWII, which was saved by the USSR." Your damn right the USA is proud of helping Britian win the war. Now get over it.

#8 on MR. joaojeronimo's list of lies and shameful acts in the United States is the the fact that we have "free" elections. He seems to think that because George w. Bush was elected for two terms that we are idiots. Hmmm.... is he the best President ever? NO? Well, that remains to be seen. How will Iraq turn out? The economy? We don't know yet. It is true when he says that George W. Bush has the lowest approval rating in history. But think about this. The approval rating for Congress is even lower than his!!!!! Look, you don't live in the United States. You don't have the right vote here. And I really don't think you would care anyways. Seeing as all that is probably true, that means your opinion dosn't matter. If you don't vote you don't have the right to say crap about it. Sorry! We as free people in the world can vote for who we want to, or not vote at all. I do feel it is our duty to vote.
OUR VETERANS ARE HOMELESS TRAMATISED & USELESS??
#13 and #14 have to do with this topic. Don't get mad at me. I didn't write it. MR. joaojeronimo said "25% of your homeless people are ex veterans!" and "In the US people traumatised and feel useless after serving their country". First off. All you af to do is a little research on the subject.(something joaojeronimo wouldn't know about) And you would find that the veterans homeless rate is not even close to 25%. Second of all. We don't have "EX VETERANS". We have veterans.(an ex-veteran I would guess is never in the military?) How the hell do you have an "ex-veteran"? MR. joaojeronimo also said that the us people are traumitized and useless after serving. How the hell would he know? I know hundreds of veterans and enlisted people alike. Not one of them are traumitized and they sure as hell don't feel useless. I am very proud of my service and their service to our country. This statement really shows joaojeronimo's bias and hatred toward the United States of America. It also shows he is willing to say or do anything to get his lies believed and spred his propoganda of hate to the world! You talk about be ashamed......I think because you know that topic so well.

It is an honor to meet someone that knows every single person in China. My God it must be hard remembering all their names. And for your information hotshot, the biggest polluter on earth are cattle! Yes! I said cattle. They methane gas released by the WORLD'S popullation of cattle far excede any that humans do. Even the United States. As far as our army goes mr. Genius. China has a standing army of well over a million men. Just incase you can't count and I know you don't research, that is about double all of our armed forces put together! All you seem to spread are lies..lies..lies.. trying to make us seem like we are the evil step mother and poor little you get treated so, so, bad. GET A LIFE!
To be fair here. Mr. joaojeronimo attacked the United States in response to a hub called "Why Europe can kiss my Red White and Blue" So, I would check out that hub and his before deciding that he is a ignorant, narrow minded, non-american that doesn't understand our country at all. He also had more things we should be ashamed of. If you want I will write on those also.

Ahh, what a breathe of fresh air. I was tempted to write a hub like this, but I opted to just ignore the kid instead. Glad to see someone had the patience to address the plethora of inaccuracies in jeronimo's hub. I too was particularly disturbed about his WWII comment, but his list of sheer nonsense didn't stop there. How does one even approach such BS? This, hoverdawg, is a good start.

Everything listed in this hub is fact, not inflated fiction. Where is the problem that has to be looked up for confirmation to let people decide for themselves? German history, Russian history, Japanese history, American history....it all says the same things.
As for veterans, God Bless them, in every country. They are the true backbone of every society fighting for their countries. These people did not ask to have done to them, or do what they were told to do to be slandered by anyone that does not have the guts to stand up for their country and do what they did. I have a family tree with veterans of WWI, WWII, Viet Nam, the Gulf War, and my own husband served twice in Iraq. Until you pick up a gun and support your country, you don't have the right to speak foul about any veteran.
I agree with you michelle. Thank you for taking the time to read my hub. I think more people would have a "better view" of America if there was a mandatory two year enlistment when you got out of high school. They may not like it any better, but I bet they would honor it more. Thanks again.

Me and other people have talked and discussed the facts and the only need to do it again here is to make yourself some bucks... Great job, Dawg! I also think it is awsome how you have deflated him. He won't even show any proof of his claims. That's because he can't! All the history books around the world say the same thing. He, apparently, just doesn't read them because he wants to make up his own truth. The only reason he is even posting in here is to try to change the subject so that he doesn't have to answer for his lies. Excellent job, Dawg and feel free to brainwash this American anyday! LOL. I thought about writing a hub about Maputo (Sp?) and trying to understand why this individual hated us so much, but the thought of it was exhausting... so I just eventually decided to ignore it - well, except for Funnebone's and Jreuter's recent comments. One debatable subject: Wikipedia lists auto emmisions as the planet's greatest pollutants, and the worst offenders are - in order - China, USA, Russia, Mexico, Japan, with Canada (that's disheartening) following closely behind.
Greenhouses: Asia is the worst offender, USA the 2nd.
