HHO For Cars
65HHO For Cars
A while back I started hearing a lot about people that were increasing their gas mileage by using something called HHO. With the prices of gas constantly rising then just about everyone is interested in getting better gas mileage.
Of course with all of the different products that I have seen over the years that are complete scams I was pretty skeptical about this system. The more I read about it though the more it began to interest me. After all everyone knows that hydrogen is part of what makes up water and this is what this whole system is based on.
I decided to buy some plans for a do it yourself HHO kit and find out what it was all about. I went with the Water4Gas plans because they seemed to be the most popular and well known. After buying their plans I was pretty pleased with the amount of detail and all of the extra's offered on their site.
It is just information that you receive from them though. You don't get the actual kit, they just tell you how to build it and give you a lot of information on saving fuel. If you have a little mechanical know how then the kit is not hard to build but it is a little more difficult than they imply.
One thing that I have found from my own tests and from what I have heard from others that have tried it is that it is possible to save some gas with these plans. It does not seem to work the same for all vehicles though and if you have a fuel injected car then you have to trick some sensors as well.
With the fuel injected cars the computer dedide how much fuel that is going to be injected into your engine. There are also several sensors that affects the logic for the amount of fuel sent. These include the MAP & O2 sensors as well as a few others depending on your vehicle. These sensors are fairly easily tricked and are not really a big deal to overcome. If you have these then trying out the Water4Gas plans may be a good deal for you.
Some vehicles use a MAF sensor instead of a MAP and there are also some vehicles that use an A/F sensor insead of O2. These sensors are not as easy to trick and so far I have not heard of an easy way to do it. If you have these sensors instead of the O2 & Map you may want to wait a little while before trying out the HHO systems until someone has a good answer for how to trick them.
I like the idea of the HHO for cars and am pleased with my results so far but it is defintely not for everyone. You will need to have some mechanical knowledge to build and maintain everything. You also will need to be willing to experiment a little bit to figure out the best way to set up the system with your car.
There are also places that you can buy ready made kits if you don't want to build them yourself. One place that I know of is HHOforcars.com.
If you decide to try it out then I would love to hear about your progress. You can reach me by email at hhocar@yahoo.com
