I wrote this poem a few years ago after waking from a childhood nightmare that had followed me into adulthood. satan tries to convince us that we get nothing when we come to Christ but that is a lie. In Christ we get back the birthright that Adam threw away when he ate the forbidden fruit in the garden. I know we are all taught that Eve was at fault because she sinned first but God held Adam more accountable. Doubt it then check out Romans 5:18-19. It says even as death entered through the sin of one man so salvation entered through one man's act of faith. Eve did sin and was at fault but God held Adam more accountable. Adam was given the birthright of authority over the garden not Eve. Adam was standing next to Eve when she took the fruit and he could have stopped her and did not. When God called Adam out on his behavior Adam's first response was to blame God. "The woman you gave me... Genesis 3" People are still blaming God today. The crap in our past was not caused by God oh He might have allowed it but He did not cause it. You want the name of the god of this world try reading 2 Corinthians 4:4. God the Father is never referred to with a lower case g. Yet this verse (2 Cor. 4:4) refers to the "god of this world" specifically with a lower case g. Who is it referring to if not to God the Father. Remember there are no typo's in the bible. There are no errors. If this is not referring to God then who. I said earlier that Adam threw away his birthright. Who caught it? satan did. satan is the god of this world. Not the creator not the eternal Father, just a fallen created being who stole Adam's birthright to rule this world. God the FAther has a plan to get the birthright back. That plan involved Jesus dying to enter hell and take back the keys to death and hell from satan. satan has authority for a small while and it is a limited authority. satan can not make you do anything. He can only tempt you. there is no such thing as the devil made me do it. If you give in to temptation and blame God for the bad in your life you will enter eternity through the gates of hell. It does not have to be that way. You can enter eternity through the gates of heaven. All you have to do is accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
