EASY STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS

HOME MADE CHICKEN ZITI BROCCOLI

                       INGREDIENTS

3-lbs Boneless chicken

2- Lb pasta Ziti

3-cloves of fresh garlic chopped

½ lb fresh broccoli crowns

1 ½ Sticks of salted butter

1-Can mushrooms optionally (4 ounces)

1-cup of extra virgin olive oil

¼ cup of heavy cream

¼ cup of grated cheese

Salt & pepper few shakes

1-fresh Lemon

¼ cup of white wine optionally

                    Preparing Your Ingredients

Cut up boneless chicken into small bit size pieces, Then  season with salt and pepper set aside, next peal and chop your garlic, take your broccoli crowns and boil them until slightly soft not to much there fall apart in you pasta dish.

In a large skillet pan add your 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil, on a low heat, followed by your chopped garlic; next add your boneless chicken to pan, followed by salt and pepper.

Now if your using white wine this the time to add to your chicken if not  add  your mushrooms next and stir, keeping on a medium to low heat, next  add your 1 ½ sticks of butter, you can also cut it down to 1 stick of butter if you wanted to ease up on the butter, follow that with some grated cheese, now you are ready to add your ¼ cup of heavy cream to the mix, and simmer for about 12 to 14 minutes on a low heat, until chicken is cooked  and continue stirring should become pretty thick.

Now drain your broccoli crowns and set aside until ready to mix,

In a large pot boil water for pasta just before you add pasta add some salt, tip if you add salt before the water boils it doesn’t season your pasta.

Cook pasta for 12 to 14 minutes until slightly soft, then drain pasta, and set aside until you put this master piece together, slice your lemon in half and squeeze the whole lemon, over your skillet pan using your hand or small straining pan under the lemon, so no seeds fall into your mixture.

Do this  about 4 minutes before you shut off the heat, the reason I don’t put the lemon in the beginning, is it will over power the mixture, but adding it to the end just gives a slight hint of lemon flavor to your dish.

After you drained your ziti, you will need to start layering, your mixture together, I like to add a layer of pasta on the bottom first then, followed by a layer of mixture, usually I do the twice to be sure its all incorporated, when you get to the top add grated cheese  for the final toping, with some dry parsley for a garish look, and enjoy.

Cost of this meal is about 13.00 dollars feeds 6 or more.

That’s less than 3.00 dollars a serving.
