HONESTLY, HOW BAD DO YOU THINK THE AMERICAN ECONOMY WILL GET BEFORE IT GETS BETTER?

The next five years or so are going to be uncomfortable. The economy won't nesecarily be bad though. Prices will continue to rise on fuel and food. Both will be sensistive to supply disruptions. There may be times when we won't be able to buy what we want.

So, what do we do? We begin to organize our lives so that we can continue to live comfortably through the next few years. Supply disruption could come at any time. Keep your car filled up with gas. Have at least a weeks worth of groceries at home including bottled water and canned goods. Candles or propane camping lanterns in case of power outages. If you have space it might be a good idea to plant a garden. Freeze or can the surplus. Home canned foods can last for years.

I think your intuition is really right on. I think we are also in for 5 more years of hardship. I also think the way to live through it is preparation and moderation. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
