Astrologically major improvements in the economy after 4/15/2009
I am not a financial expert. However,there are planetary forces that will turn the economy around by April 15, 2009. This prediction is based on the astrological chart of the United States at the time of Benjamin Franklin's signing of the Declaration of independence.
This was historically at 2:17 AM July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia (Taurus rising chart vedic)). That puts the natal Moon of the United states at 27 degrees 25 minutes Capricorn. Presently, the planet Jupiter is transiting exactly in the 12th house of loss to the US natal Moon, or at 20 degrees 5 minutes in Sagittarius. So during this time there will be continued financial losses nationally.
Taken from the Rising sign of the US natal chart, which is at 15 degrees 28 minutes Taurus (vedic), Saturn is transiting in the 4th house (home comforts) and, I feel may be responsible for the large number of foreclosures that are happening.
So, from a couple of perspectives, the U.S. is undergoing some very stressful times. Saturn is a slow moving planet so it takes 2 1/2 years to pass through a sign. It moves out of that sign around the early Fall of 2009 into Libra, where it is exalted. So you will see major improvements in the housing industry in the Fall of 2009.
I understand that there are many experts who have immense understanding of the markets, but I believe it is important to understand the impact of the "progression of the planets."
Now, if you look at the Clinton years, Saturn and Jupiter were favorably placed. This is not to take away all the credit due to the administration during those years. However, it may have been part of destiny's plan to put those wise administrators in office during those. years.
On another note, you might ask Penny Pritzker, Obama's national finance chairman and 89th wealthiest woman and chief architect of the concept of sub-prime mortgages, if she can bail us out, instead of the taxpayers. She can afford it.
Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac are the chief culprits. If you examine the record, you will see that Senator McCain tried to curb Fannie Mae in 2005

Pluto: planet of transformation
According to Douglas Parker of astrology-reading.com the last time Pluto was on this "axis" was in 1914, and that year the new York Stock Exchange closed from July 31 until Nov 28th due to the foreign investors demanding repayment.
Now the trade deficit is at 62 billion dollars and he feels there may be another occurrence of this financial crisis. However, I would point out that in 1914 Saturn was conjunct Pluto and that may have caused the severe crisis.
According to myastrologybook the planet Pluto will be in Sagittarius (vedic) from June 14, 2008 until JAN. 21, 2024 and the last time it was in Sagittarius was during the American Revolutionary War and actually entered Sagittarius in 1762 and stayed there until 1778.
So it will be an eventuful time and, possibly an historical and desperate time as well. However, as I mentioned before, the official astrology association (IAU) has officially downgraded Pluto to a "dwarf" planet in 2006. The gentleman in the video, Carl Boudreau, has also mentioned that the natal chart of the USA is strong enough to withstand these adversities, in particular because in the birth chart of the USA, Saturn is exalted in Libra. Note Carl is a western astrologer, so he will note that the planet Pluto will be in Capricorn. (hint subtract the Ayanamsa of 20 degrees 44 minutes).

some very frutrated people have been commenting on astrology. Recently I came across one astrologer, Lynn Palmer, who predicted 9/11 tothe day.
There are those who believe and those who do not, and never the twain shall meet. No sense in getting nasty about it.
Now, back to the question you posed about how long the economic crunch will last...I think the US economy is diverse enough to weather the current hard times and rebound somewhat in the next two years. I do expect it to get worse before it gets better. I'm hoping that the US population will demonstrate the resilience and innovative spirit that made the country strong to begin with and in doing so herald in a new era of prosperity. The worse thing we could do is become defeatist about it all.

You make an interesting point, and I see no reason to get ugly with comments to you. I have never seen economic theory tied to astrology, but I sure hear a lot of dumber things. Few people probably realize that the stock market is cyclical by month, and America is by far the major securities holders. So, while I do not subscribe to astrology, like most Americans, I like the hub.
I think that America needs to get far more strategic and tactical. Japan is the model national economy. I am dissapointed in our Presidential candidates, but there were few other good choices, primarily Ron Paul. We have huge fundamental problems with China and Japan owning so much of our currency.
We will bounce back, and that may be our biggest problem. We will ignore the fundamental reasons that little tiny Japan will bypass us shortly, even though they have only been in econoic warfare with us for about 50 years, compared to our hundreds of years building our economy. Look out for China and India who will probably adopt the Japanese model, not ours.

I am sure that their sound economic policies are doing wonders for our economy right. And of course because you say that Benjamin Franklin's signing of the declaration of Independence and yada yada yada are leading you to believe that the economy will recovery.....

Hey, this is very cool! I practice astrology often but I never knew it could also apply to countries. Very interesting.
Astrologers aren't all in agreement, with the actual charts, but you can find the natal chart of countires. In the case of the USA, there are 2 major charts that are used. B.V. Raman is one notable astrologer who whose work on predictions is pretty amazing.
