I have spent a lot of time over the years locating people I have lost touch with. Most recently, I located an old friend through Facebook. I have also located people using yellowpages.com, and people.yahoo.com.

My sister and I tried relentlessly for years to locate our brother, but we had no luck. We were finally put into contact with his mother through an aunt. Unfortunately, he had died years before that, and we never got to meet him. There are few traces of some people online. It just depends on how active they have been. Sometimes, you are forced to search public records for the area (usually the county clerk's website) they were last known to be in so that you can get an address, which may be outdated by then. At any rate, I have looked for numerous people online, and here are my findings:

Probably the most useful website I have found regarding this matter was zabasearch.com. This one has a great deal of information. First, you look on Intelius to narrow down where the person is based on age. Then you search for that person using the software mentioned above and especially zabasearch.com

They give you a very long list, usually, which includes a great deal of information for all of the people in the state you have specified. They sometimes give birthdates, ages, addresses, etc. Try it!

There are some other websites like whitepages.com and skipease.com, but I have had better luck with the others.

Unfortunately, the only website I know of that will provide free email addresses is people.yahoo.com, but I have not had luck with any of the searches I have run for email addresses on there.
