 Overall, I would like this computer. This is my laptop and 4 I have recommended  "4, " but it has a big disadvantage.

 Strengths:
 1.) Great price for the features you will receive (speed, disk size, etc.)
 2.) BIG positive - this ismuch cooler! I  'm sure that all laptops have improved with changing technology, but I feel no heat coming from this machine (which means it runs faster). I have my laptop sitting next to another (about 1 1 / 2 years old), and it is so hot it could melt anything.
 3rd) I have the white version, and it looks pretty cool, IMHO.
 4.) Built-in webcam is a lot of fun (and practical too, I think).
 5.) volume control is as clear and accessible (see my other laptops were difficult for my child to submitme shouting racing programs on too many occasions! It required the use of function keys + another that error when he  't remember, or find quickly enough). This has the volume and mute options, from directly above the keys.

 Disadvantages:
 1.) BIG problem - you can see, would be in the photos on this site is that the touch pad in the middle of the machine you think it would be helpful positioned. However, Ding Dang keeps heat sensing pad of my thumb / palm and jumping cursoreverywhere (and I write so fast that I ve don  't realize this until I ' upset my whole document!). I wondered why this happened didn  't the last year with my gateway, so I compared. The Gateway laptop has centered the touchpad below the space bar and the letters on the keyboard so that ... BRILLIANT ... The touchpad is nicely lined up between the hands as they rest on the home keys and you give away. I have no idea why HP wouldn  't things first and then try to discover this on your own.For this reason I have a lengthy external keyboard and mouse spent extra money (which kind of defeats the purpose of the portable with a laptop computer included).

 In fact, as I write this review, I can say  't how many times I had to repeat what I've jumped around to different areas is the message you entered. When you hit the enter a lot of planning, you could find easily, turn off the touchpad button, but it's incredibly annoying when you have back and forth.

 AlsoPart of the whole touchpad function ... Although it is sensitive when) you don  't want it to be (ie, sensing palm ' s heat is not sensitive enough when you want it to click (ie with the touchpad - you often have to tap with your finger 3 or 4 times).

 Something to Remember if you buy this (and from work, a network) ...
 It is a network key, doesn  't like a button at all. As soon as I could  't get my internet to work for a whole day and keep trying different things. Ifinally decided to touch this little red light on the panel antennas image on the right side, the volume control. When I clicked it, turned to blue and all was fine. Obviously it is a quick disconnect "button network (for security reasons I guess, but a pain in the butt when you  re 'not aware).

 This computer also comes with a remote control that looks and sounds cool, but I have yet to find out a use for it. I think you need to log on to a TV-type service, and thenis your main TV. It could also be for the use of DVDs, etc. are used, but it does not seem necessary to me.
