Placement Papers usually have four rounds. The first one is the written test paper. It contains the aptitude, reasoning, english language and other objective type questions. In some non freshers placement papers, the written test may contain mostly technical questions from programming topics, physics, etc. The questions asked in the written may be of different types depending upon the companies, whether you are a fresher or experienced person, etc. The questions in aptitude section are from topics like ages, probability, profit and loss related questions, speed and time related ones, find the area, angle, volume, etc. There are lots other topics and most questions can be found from the previous placement papers and RS aggarwal book. You can make sure you sail through the written test by doing this much work.
The written test paper often has a sectional cutoff. Those who exceed the cutoff gain entry into the next round and others have to go. The next round is the GD or group discussion round. There is a group of like 8 students called at a time for the GD. The gd topic can be economical , political or general current affairs. The GD round is a difficult round where one has to demostrate his teamwork ability, confidence and intelligence.
Many candidates are often filtered out in the GD round. Those who succeed are asked to go to the interview round. There are often two interviews - these are the HR and the technical interviews. In the technical interview, the main topics are the project related questions. Here you have to say that you were the team leader in your project and you must have full knowledge about your project. This is very important as the interviewer can judge whether you know about your project or not. Other questions can be like what is your favorite subject?
