Hair restoration for women presents some special challenges that must be met in order to have a successful result.  Because of this many hair restoration surgeons focus primarily on male pattern baldness issues and do not even attempt female treatments.  This is not to say that women can not have great results.  It just means it takes a little longer to find a competent surgeon who can perform the procedures that are necessary.

If you are contemplating hair restoration procedures and you are female then you owe it to yourself to check out several clinics to see what types of programs they offer.  Be sure to take a look at the results of the doctor's work on other women.  Since plastic surgery is all about looks every competent doctor will have tons of pictures showing before and after pictures of women who have had the procedures.  If the clinic does not offer photos of women with successful hair restoration procedures performed then go somewhere else.

There are several causes of hair loss in women.  It can be very devastating for a women to lose their hair, much more so than if a man experiences hair loss.  If you are not happy with the amount of hair you have then you definitely should check out hair implantation and hair transplantation procedures.

The most common cause of hair loss in women is family female pattern baldness.  This is an inherited condition that is akin to male pattern baldness.  There are other possible causes such as low thyroid level, hormonal problems such as elevated testosterone, pregnancy and anorexia or binge dieting.  Another fairly common cause is hair loss due to prior surgeries such as face lifts.

In men it is usually easy to find a donor area on the scalp with substantial hair growth to allow for the removal of the hair follicles for grafting.  Generally speaking men tend to continue to grow hair at the back of the head above the collar line in great numbers.  Women on the other hand tend to have less hair follicles to start with and then experience thinning over their entire scalp along with the pattern baldness portions.  This makes finding good grafts more difficult but a skilled surgeon can still give very good results.

Follicular unit grafting was not possible for women until about five years ago because of these special challenges.  With modern micro-transplantation techniques and a skilled staff several hair restoration clinics are now giving women the results they desire.

If you are suffering the embarrassment of hair loss you owe it to yourself to check out different options to get back that full head of hair you deserve.  Women are not supposed to be bald and if you don't like it then find a clinic or hair restoration surgeon near you and check out your options.  You don't want to look like your aunt with hardly any hair on your head.  Move today to do something about the hair loss.  You deserve it.

Hairline advancement techniques are very effective and restoring beautiful hair if you have experience hair line creep. This is a condition in which the hair tends to fall out at the hair line around the face progressively until your forehead looks about twice as big as normal. Often times this is caused by scarring from prior facial plastic surgery. This condition can be dealt with effectively by using micro-grafting technologies.

There are also several new products designed especially for the hair loss requirements of women.  Thousands of men and women have found relief by using some of the products the US Food And Drug Administration has accepted.

I didn't know there was such a thing as hair restoration products for women. Some of the men in my family have male pattern baldness but luckily it's not a problem for me yet!
