When hair implants first became widely noticed, the methods used were quite crude in comparison to today's standards. In those times, doctors would use what they called plugs and strips. A medium unit is a bit larger consisting of 2-3 hairs approx. These are often used behind the small units. Then there are the large units of 3-5 hairs for density . Often potential clients are looking for other options. Particularly with the types of hair to be used for the transplant. First of all it has to be your own hair, it cannot come from another individual. This has been tried in the past but within approximately 30 days all of the newly transplanted hair fell out. Another method that was used ,was synthetic hair as the donor. This proved to be dangerous and in some countries such as the USA this procedure is banned all together. Hair transplants are a wonderful thing but it must be remembered that you are dealing with the human body.
