provillus Hair loss treatment for men

Maybe we are all vain, but doesn't having a full head of hair give you confidence, about yourself and around others? Afterall, your hair is your crowning glory.

And I bet your co-workers...your friends...your family...that special someone will think the same too.

Hair loss and thinning hair have been sensitive issues for both men and women throughout time, bringing alot of anxiety and unhappiness, and if you're among the estimated 85 million men and women in the U.S. experiencing hair thinning, there is no need tosuffer any more; you can fight back, and the best time to start is now.

Medical Science Break Through

Hair loss is no longer a mystery, recently, medical science has finally identified the main cause of hair loss...and it's DHT (Dihydrotestosterone)

The truth is, hair follicles can die, many follicles slowly shrink and die in the presence of DHT. This causes 95% of all hair loss. DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is created naturally inside your body when the enzyme 5 alpha reductase combines with the hormone testosterone. In both men and women, it's called androgenetic alopecia or hair loss if you prefer.

Follicles Are Choked By DHT

Your hair follicles aren't blocked, malnourished or suffering from poor circulation. They're dying from DHT. This is what causes hair loss. Anything that will stop hair loss, cure baldness or regrow hair must block DHT or overpower its effects. This can only occur at the molecular level inside your body. Some of the hair loss products out now are really excellent. Some even work instantly.

Complete Provillus Review

*Effectiveness as a hair loss cure:

A powerful mix of natural extracts work together in the Provillus formula to quickly block DHT, safely working to boost your body’s natural ability to transport essential nutrients to your scalp. The results will obviously differ depending on age, body type as well as genetics, but most users of Provillus have seen significant hair growth after only 3 months of use, with some taking a bit longer or even less time.

*Possible Side Effects and Safety

Compared to many other hair loss pills available on the market, Provillus is formulated with natural ingredients which are completely safe to take. It is important to note that all herbal supplements are safe. The men’s version of Provillus contains Saw Palmetto which could potentially pose a risk to unborn babies. This is why the women’s version does not contain this ingredient in its formulation.

There have been a few cases where Saw Palmetto has caused difficulty with urinating as well as sleepiness later in the night. If you are normally a night owl, staying up until past midnight, you may feel more like falling asleep now around 10 pm instead. However, overall Saw Palmetto doesn’t cause you to feel drowsy.

*Customer Support:

The parent company behind Provillus is called HealthBuy. They offer toll-free phone numbers that you can use at any time to ask any questions you may have. Or, they have an online contact form that you can use for any questions if that is easier for you. We tested out their customer service by trying to contact them, and were pleased to receive a very timely response from them.

*Guarantee:

As has already been mentioned, there are many factors which can affect how well the product will work for each person. If there is any reason that you are not completely satisfied with your results, you can return any unused and unopened product for a complete refund. You have a complete 90 days to decide.

Final Words on Provillus

An oral supplement, Provillus works its way into the bloodstream which will boost the nutrients in your system to prepare the scalp for new hair follicle generation. Further hair loss will be prevented by strengthening the bonds and modifying the chemical reactions that take place in the body which cause hair loss.

We are confident in recommending the Provillus pills to consumers. By looking at past user experiences, for the best possible results, we recommend purchasing a four-month supply. But, if you are still a bit unsure, simply order enough for one month and reorder when you are sure you are satisfied.

User's feedback on Provillus

1.

Kathy

Is provillus simply a scam? Not at all. Before I purchase any product online I tend to do my own research first..

I read a lot of provillus reviews and user’s feedback from Internet and it all pretty much said the same thing that Provillus for Women pills rejuvenates the hair follicles and stimulates growth of new hair just like it claims.

I then purchased 6 months package and it’s been great. Seriously, I recommend Provillus to any women who suffered from hair loss.

Hope this help!
2.

Rina

I started losing hair back on 2006. While I was taking Provillus, the amount of hair loss is less than before but I didn’t see any hair growth. It was as if I was not taking anything at all since it didn’t helps me to regrow my hair…
3.

Harry

@Rina

How long have you been taking Provillus?
4.

Joanna

This product works! I am 42, female, with thinning due to menopause. I have used Provillus now for 6 months, the shedding stopped after I take Provillus for 1 month, I have always shed a lot over the last few years.
5.

Rina

@Harry

1 month, I’m not going to take more since there’s no much results I can see in the first month…
6.

Brad

Now is the 6th month I take Provillus pills in conjunction with Provillus liquid (Minoxidil solution) and I can honestly said that they work! I wish I could recommend everyone who have thin hair to use this product. It definitely would make lots of people happy. Even my barber has noticed the change last month, he commented on how much my hair filled in the area of most thinning.
7.

alex

Any side effects?
8.

Devi

I know its normal to lose hair but i was losing drastic amount of it everyday… it was scary, then luckily with postive feedback about provillus i decided to purchase the capsules… Im on my second month now and havnt as yet noticed much difference but my hair has calmed down in falling out, i will however continue to taking the pills for 6 months and then get back to you with the results… good luck to me and to the ones that are in my boat!!!
9.

Jake

I haven’t tried this product yet but plan on my question if your hair grows back from using Provillus will it completely UN block DHT were you wouldn’t have to use the product as A deterrent for thinning hair for a long period of time?
10.

Kelvin

@ alex

Provillus is an all natural product and we have not seen any official published reports of Provillus side effects at of this writing. You may, however, experience mild stomach discomfort when taking Provillus, If this occurs, simply take Provillus with foods and the problem should subside.

@ Jake

Based on our experience and observation the results are usually permanent. We suggest taking it for 2 to 4 months for optimal use. It is beneficial for frontal hair loss as well as the crown.

You may start noticing the positive effects after the first month. Provillus first starts to retain your hair and will eventually target growth in the temples and crown areas.

Provillus Suggested Use:

Capsules: Take two capsules daily with a meal and water. There are 60 capsules in each bottle.

Minoxidil solution: Make sure scalp is dry before applying. Apply 1ml with dropper 2 times a day directly onto scalp in the hair loss area.

Please allow at least 4 hours in between each application.

Rinse out the product with shampoo at least once a day.

We hope this help!

Edo

How long will i see results?…ones i start taking it
12.

Kelvin

@ Edo

From what we’ve seen most Provillus users take about 1-3 months before a significant increase in hair count occurs (Bear in mind that our hair grows slowly )

You should also be noted that every individual is unique. Therefore, the results will vary from person to person.

Here's a review of the ingriedients in Provillus

What is Minoxidil?

Minoxidil was first used in tablet form as a medicine to treat high blood pressure, but it was noticed that some patients being treated with Minoxidil experienced excessive hair growth (hypertrichosis) as a side-effect. Further research showed that by applying Minoxidil in solution form directly to the scalp, it could prove to be beneficial to those experiencing topical hair loss.

How Minoxidil Helps Reduce Hair Loss and Increase Hair Growth

Whilst minoxidil encourages hair growth and hair loss stabilisation, the exact molecular mechanism operating in the cells that result in hair growth from Minoxidil is not known. Some experts believe that minoxidil dilates the blood vessels around hair follicles, increasing the nutrient supply and encouraging increased hair growth, however, this is still an unproven theory, as vasodilator drugs other than Minoxidil do not appear to promote hair growth.

Another theory is that topical Minoxidil induces a significant increase in DNA synthesis in hair follicle cells. Minoxidil is a stable and inactive drug. When applied to the scalp and absorbed into the skin Minoxidil is converted to an active, unstable product called 'Minoxidil Sulphite'. Our body produces a catalyst called sulfonyl transferase that converts the inactive Minoxidil into the unstable active Minoxidil Sulphite. Minoxidil sulphite activates potassium channels in cells and this is thought to lead to hair growth.

Whilst there is no conclusive evidence as to why Minoxidil encourages hair growth, the fact is that it does, be it to varying degrees.

What is Medroxyprogesterone?

Medroxyprogesterone (MPG) can be found in our Minoxidil 4 and 5% solutions depending on the recommendations of the trichologist for each individual. MPG helps to prevent the hormone derivative 'dihydrotestosterone' from interfering with the hair follicles function. This complements Minoxidil's reaction with the follicles, and adds to the response that is achieved. When MPG is added to Minoxidil it becomes a prescription-only treatment but in many cases Minoxidil will be provided without MPG contained.

What is Azelaic Acid?

Azelaic Acid (AA) is added to our 12.5% Minoxidil cream. It works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha reductase from the areas where the blood supply is being increased because of the Minoxidil, thus helping to prevent testosterone converting to dihydrotestosterone, which is the hormone that causes hair loss. 12.5% minoxidil + Azelaic Acid is a prescription drug due to the quantity of Minoxidil that it contains and is exclusively available from the Belgravia Pharmacy.

Getting the Best From Minoxidil

Belgravia trichologists have found that whilst Minoxidil can help reduce hair loss and boost hair growth, the degree of success will often depend on the Minoxidil’s strength. The Minoxidil formulations that we provide vary from a mild 4% lotion to a stronger 5% Regain lotion, or an extra-strength 12.5% cream, which is our form of Minoxidil used to treat very stubborn patches of thinning hair and baldness. Depending on what is recommended to the individual hair loss sufferer, we can also provide Minoxidil containing an extra booster – Medroxyprogesterone (MPG).

Medical experts have also found that treatment for male pattern hair loss can be further enhanced by combining the use of Minoxidil with Propecia , which is the most recent clinically proven and medically approved drug for hair loss. Courses consisting primarily of Minoxidil and Propecia are the most popular and successful treatment combinations prescribed at the Belgravia Centre. Click on the link to find all you need to know about Propecia .

A Belgravia hair loss treatment course consists of more than just Minoxidil or Propecia, we find that ‘treatment courses boosters’ are just as important. Find out about treatment course boosters and how a Belgravia hair loss treatment course ensures the highest likelihood of hair re-growth.

Side Effects

Like most other drugs there can be side effects from the use of Minoxidil. During the past ten years of treating tens of thousands of men and women at the Belgravia Centre we estimate less than one in one hundred (1%) incidents of side effects from the use of Minoxidil. Side effects from Minoxidil ranged from mild facial hair growth, headaches, rashes and palpitations. All were mild and needed no medical treatment. They either diminished in a short time during use of Minoxidil, or shortly after stopping use of Minoxidil.

Vitamin B6 is one of the B-complex, water-soluble vitamins. Vitamin B6 was discovered in the 1930s during nutrition studies on rats. The vitamin was named pyridoxine to indicate its structural homology to pyridine. Later it was shown that vitamin B6 could exist in two other, slightly different, chemical forms, termed pyridoxal and pyridoxamine. Vitamin B6 is very essential for body functions and its deficiency can lead to many disorders including hair loss. [1] It is essential for nerve function, immune function, protein digestion and is needed for more than 100 enzymes involved in protein metabolism. It is also essential for red blood cell metabolism. The nervous and immune systems need vitamin B6 to function efficiently. Vitamin B6 promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss. [2] Grumpiness and irritability are sometimes symptomatic of a deficiency according to "Body, Mind, and the B Vitamins" by Ruth Adams and Frank Murray.

Vitamin B6 also helps maintain your blood glucose (sugar) within a normal range. When caloric intake is low your body needs vitamin B6 to help convert stored carbohydrate or other nutrients to glucose to maintain normal blood sugar levels. While a shortage of vitamin B6 will limit these functions, supplements of this vitamin do not enhance them in well-nourished individuals

Vitamin B6 is prevalent in both animal and vegetable food sources. Vitamin B6 is found in a wide variety of foods including fortified cereals, beans, meat, poultry, fish, and some fruits and vegetables [1,11]. The table of selected food sources of vitamin B6 suggests many dietary sources of B6.

Foods high in Vitamin B6

* Ready-to-eat cereal, 100% fortified, 3/4 c: 2 mg of B6 ~ 100% of the recommended daily value (DV)
* Baked potato, flesh and skin, 1 medium: 0.7 mg ~ 35% DV
* Banana, raw, 1 medium: 0.68 mg ~ 34% DV
* Garbanzo beans, canned, 1/2 c: 0.57 mg ~ 30% DV
* Chicken breast, meat only, cooked, 1/2 breast: 0.52 mg ~ 25% DV
* Oatmeal, instant, fortified, 1 packet: 0.42 mg ~ 20% DV
* Pork loin, lean only, cooked, 3 oz: 0.42 mg ~20% DV
* Roast beef, eye of round, lean only, cooked, 3 oz: 0.32 mg ~ 15% DV
* Trout, rainbow, cooked, 3 oz: 0.29 mg ~ 15% DV
* Sunflower seeds, kernels, dry roasted, 1 oz: 0.23 mg ~ 10% DV
* Avocado, raw, sliced, 1/2 cup: 0.2 mg ~ 10% DV
* Salmon, Sockeye, cooked, 3 oz: 0.19 mg ~ 10% DV
* Tuna, canned in water, drained solids, 3 oz: 0.18 mg ~ 10% DV
* Peanut butter, smooth, 2 Tbs: 0.15 mg ~ 8% DV

Biotin is also one of the Vitamin B complex necessary for fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Biotin is also known as Vitamin B7. It is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails and deficiency state has been shown to cause hair loss. Biotin is used in cell growth, the production of fatty acids, metabolism of fats, and amino acids. It plays a role in the Citric acid cycle, which is the process in which biochemical energy is generated during aerobic respiration. Biotin not only assists in various metabolic chemical conversions, but also helps to transfer carbon dioxide. Biotin is also helpful in maintaining a steady blood sugar level. Biotin is often recommended for strengthening hair and nails.

Biotin supplements are often recommended as a natural product to counteract the problem of hair loss. The signs and symptoms of biotin deficiency include hair loss which progresses in severity to include loss of eye lashes and eye brows in severely deficient subjects. Some shampoos are available that contain biotin, but it is doubtful whether they would have any useful effect, as biotin is not absorbed well through the skin.

Falling hair is normal, when you take bath roll in the bed, do combing and such other activities, you lost some of your hairs. It is very natural. But if your hair falls and that too in such a quantity that makes your head poor haired then it is a deficiency, which may ultimately lead to baldness. If this is the case, then you are suffering with hair problems. The causes may be many and you need to identify them, but ultimately your body is deficient of Biotin. Yes, Biotin, it is the vitamin, which makes your hair healthy, strong and good looking. It is clinically proven, so maintaining a good level of Biotin in your body system is as essential as maintaining other vitamins and minerals. Biotin is necessary for your hairs health and overall well being. Medical specialists advise that the persons suffering with Hair Problems must take Biotin in addition to other medications.

So if you are suffering with hair problems, must go for medications with Biotin substitutes. Foods like eggs. Yolk and liver contains a lot of Biotin, you need to consume these foods in rich quantity to maintain your health and prevent hair loss.
Using a Biotin enriched shampoo may also help in improving your hair health.

Some more foods rich in Biotin are; brewer’s yeast, green peas, oats, soybeans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, green peas, bulgur and brown rice, etc. Eating these foods and food products will help your body in maintaining a good level of Biotin.

Sources of Biotin

The main sources of Biotin are; liver, kidneys, milk, cheese, butter and other dairy products, egg yolks, oysters, lobsters, poultry, cauliflower, avocados, bananas, strawberries, watermelon, grapefruits, raisins, mushrooms, green peas, blackcurrants, brewer’s yeast, wheat germ, nuts, beans, lentils, oat bran, whole grains, oatmeal, peanut butter, molasses, and foods like salmon, tuna, mackerel, and herrings (foods rich in Omega – 3 fatty acids).
A healthy person and pregnant woman must take 300 grams of Biotin in daily diet. Breastfeeding mothers need about 350 micrograms of Biotin.

Symptoms of Biotin Deficiency

People affecting with Biotin deficiency may show dry or scaly scalp, a loss of appetite, hair problems; closely associated with Biotin deficiency, nausea, depression, dermatitis, anorexia, and anemia.

Magnesium, an important mineral is essential for chemical reactions in the body including energy metabolism, protein synthesis, neuromuscular transmission, bone structure and hair growth. [4] Deficiency symptoms have three categories:

* Early symptoms include irritability, fatigue, insomnia, and muscle twitching. Other symptoms may include poor memory, apathy, confusion, and reduced ability to learn.
* Moderate deficiency symptoms consist of rapid heartbeat and other cardiovascular changes.
* Severe deficiency of magnesium could lead to tingling, numbness, sustained contraction of the muscles, and hallucinations and delirium.

Zinc is an essential mineral necessary for a healthy immune system and proper functioning of enzymes. It is needed for cell division

where it is required for protein and DNA synthesis, in insulin activity, in the metabolism of the ovaries and testes, and in liver function, and hence important for skin, nails and hair. Studies report that zinc causes increase on hair density and reverses hair loss. [5] [6] [7] As a component of many enzymes, zinc is involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and energy.

The first signs of zinc deficiency are impairment of taste, a poor immune response and skin problems. Other symptoms of zinc deficiency can include hair loss, diarrhea, fatigue, and delayed wound healing. It is thought that zinc supplementation can help skin conditions such as acne and eczema, prostate problems, anorexia nervosa, alcoholics and those suffering from trauma or post-surgery.

Saw Palmetto

The liposerolic extract of the fruit of Saw Palmetto is the most popular herbal supplement for the promotion of prostate health in Europe.

Research has shown that the herb Saw Palmetto has the same effects as finasteride in treating patients with benign prostate enlargement. In fact, the herb is very popular and common in Germany and is available as an over-the-counter medication. There are many research and studies in Germany that confirm the effectiveness of Saw Palmetto in treating patients with prostatic disease.

Studies have shown that saw palmetto is an effective anti-androgen. It acts in a similar way that propecia does. Firstly it lowers levels of DHT in the body by Blocking 5 alpha-reductase. Secondly Saw Palmetto block receptor sites on cell membranes required for cells to absorb DHT. Although no studies have been carried out on saw palmetto and its relation to hair growth. Studies have been performed on the use of Saw palmetto in the treatment of benign prostatic disease which similar to Androgenetic Alopecia also depends on the production of dihydrotestosterone(DHT). All of the studies that have been performed to date show that Saw palmetto is an effective anti-androgen and has shown conclusively to be effective in the treatment of benign prostate disease.

More and more people around the globe are starting to use Saw palmetto in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasma and in the treatment of Androgenetic alopecia

One may assume from this that since Saw palmetto is an effective antiandrogen and is used in the treatment of prostatic disease then it may also be effective in the treatment of Androgenetic alopecia.

Some studies have shown that saw palmetto may have the same effect as the drug finasteride in treating hair loss and prostate enlargement diseases. It has been suggested that both hair loss and prostate disease are related to the hormone DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) which is formed when the enzyme 5-alpha reductase interacts with the male hormone testosterone.

Finasteride works as an 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It reduces the amount of 5-alpha reductase in our body and thereby reduces the formation of DHT, which is the main cause for hair loss and prostatic disease. DHT is formed when 5-alpha reductase interacts with the male hormone testosterone. DHT is a derivate of testosterone but is many times more potent. Hair follicles that are sensitive to DHT tend to fall off when exposed to the hormone.

Finasteride is marketed as Proscar® (5 mg finasteride) or Propecia™ (1 mg finasteride) by the Merck & Co. Both Proscar and Propecia are oral medication and has been approved by the FDA in the United States. Proscar is usually prescriped for people with benign prostate enlargement. Propecia was approved by the FDA in December 1997 as the first ever anti-baldness pill. Both Proscar and Propecia are available by prescription only.

Since both hair loss and prostatic disease are related to DHT, many suggest that Saw Palmetto will also be effective in treating people with hair loss by reducing the amount of DHT in our body and around the hair follicles. Although there is no formal study or testing to confirm the effectiveness of Saw Palmetto in treating hair loss, many companies are already preparing topical hair lotions that are formulated with Saw Palmetto.

Saw Palmetto and Beta-sitosterol Study

Natural Treatment for Male Pattern Baldness

7/3/02 - Healthnotes Newswire—Those with male pattern baldness may increase hair growth by taking a preparation containing saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) and beta-sitosterol (a compound found in many edible plants), according to a new study in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (2002;8:143–52).

Male pattern baldness is a hereditary condition that most often affects men, but may affect women as well. Hair loss often starts with a receding hairline and continues in a horseshoe pattern, leaving hair on the sides and back of the head mostly unaffected. Although the exact reason that such hair loss occurs is not clear, some studies suggest that excessive conversion of testosterone to another hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) may be an underlying cause.

Conventional medicines used to treat male pattern baldness are designed to block the conversion of testosterone to DHT. Topical application of minoxidil (Rogaine®) and taking oral finasteride (Propecia®) have been shown to inhibit this conversion and to increase hair growth, but both medications have been linked with several adverse side effects, including fast heart rate, headaches, impotence, and decreased libido. Saw palmetto and beta-sitosterol have been shown to block the production of DHT in men suffering from enlargement of the prostate (or benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is also due to excessive amounts of DHT), but this is the first study to demonstrate that these compounds also help with hair loss—and without causing significant side effects.

In the new study, 19 men between the ages of 23 and 64 years with mild to moderate hair loss were given either a placebo or a supplement containing 400 mg of a standardized extract of saw palmetto and 100 mg of beta-sitosterol per day. After about five months, hair growth in 60% of the men taking the herbal combination had improved compared with their initial evaluation. In contrast, only 11% of those receiving the placebo improved.

Although the number of men in the study was small and the results were not statistically significant (which means the improvement may have occurred by chance alone), the findings are encouraging for millions of men (and possibly women) with male pattern hair loss and offers a relatively safe alternative for those who want to take a natural approach to treat this condition. Larger studies are needed to confirm the benefit of saw palmetto and beta-sitosterol, as reported in this preliminary study. In addition, women of childbearing age should not use saw palmetto without medical supervision because it has not been proven to be safe during pregnancy and lactation.

At the present time, there is no known cure for male pattern baldness. Both conventional and natural treatments can help control the hair loss as long as one maintains the treatment, though it will often recur once the treatment is discontinued. Given the safety of saw palmetto and beta-sitosterol, they seem a reasonable first line of treatment for mild to moderate male pattern baldness before considering conventional medications.

Nettle Root

The nettle plant, also known as Stinging Nettle, or under its botanical names Urtica dioica and Urtica urens, has been used as a traditional medicinal herb for many centuries. A mental stimulant, it was found useful in ancient schools. Teachers applied stinging sprigs of fresh nettle to the bare backs of their students, to help them memorize their lessons better…

Both nettle roots and leafs were traditionally used to treat asthma, diabetes, kidney infections, arthritis, coughs, colds, and even enlarged prostates. They were believed to improve digestion, heal wounds, and lower blood pressure. An interesting action of nettle root is in its testosterone and estrogen-enhancing qualities, with makes this herb a praised aphrodisiac. However, the most famous application of nettle infusions is in treating alopecia areata. A gentle irritant, this herb is able to improve scalp circulation, stimulate hair roots, facilitate the flow of oxygen and nutrients into hair follicles, and promote overall hair growth. Clinical trials have confirmed the effectiveness of nettle root extracts in treatments of hair loss, including genetic male-pattern baldness and alopecia areata.

Nettle root extracts, infusions, oils, and alcohol preparations have been praised in many societies for their unique skin-smoothing, bacteria-killing, and hair-restoring properties. They found applications in numerous traditional hair care products - those ancients shampoos, soaps, rinses, and conditioners. Recently, both modern science and cosmetic industry have rediscovered many wonderful qualities of nettle, and incorporated its extracts into a vast variety of treatments and beauty products. Nettle root preparations are now being used in many health care items to enhance their cleaning and healing properties. One of the most important applications for nettle root extract is found in herbal hair care products. Due to their superb hair-growing properties, nettle preparations are included in modern hair massage oils, shampoos, conditioners, and hair loss treatments. Nettle is especially known for its capacity to improve the health of skin, scalp, and hair, remove dandruff, stimulate hair growth, and strengthen weakened hair follicles.

Nettle oil is, probably, the most powerful of nettle infusions. It is usually manufactured by mixing extra-virgin, cold-pressed olive oil with nettle root extracts. For centuries, this powerful herbal oil has been proven very effective in restoring dull, thinning hair. An anti-inflammatory remedy, nettle oil should be massaged into the scalp and hair at least once a week, to combat dandruff, dry hair, and an itchy, irritated scalp. Apply gently warmed nettle oil onto your scalp about one hour before shampooing, massage vigorously into the leather and especially inflamed areas, and leave there for more effective absorption. Nettle oil can also be left on the scalp and hair overnight. Long-term nettle applications are known to improve scalp psoriasis, eczema, and various types of dermatitis - the conditions which often result in the fall of hair. A hypersensitive skin reacts to nettle root oil especially well: weekly scalp massages are a great treatment that helps reduce inflammation, heal irritated areas, and reverse related hair loss.

What makes nettle so unique is its chemical composition featuring a wide array of healing components. It contains vitamins C and E, serotonin, formic acid, choline, chlorophyll, flavonoids, carotenoids, lecithin, caffeic acids, and beneficial minerals. Some chemical agents of nettle root are able to block the enzyme 5a-reductase, which is responsible for the formation of DHT from testosterone - the main villain involved in the development of male-pattern hair loss.

To enhance the healing effect of nettle oil on the scalp and hair, it is often mixed with other herbal remedies, such as Burdock root oil, Saw Palmetto extracts, or Plantain oil. Combined action of these traditional hair-restoring herbs is particularly beneficial for over-sensitive, reddish, dry, and irritated scalp. It is also a great strengthening remedy to rejuvenate and give a boost to hair follicles that have entered telogen - their “resting phase”, during which hair falls out. In addition, personal care products with nettle root can feature facial masks and skin lotions designed to smooth the skin, combat inflammation, and remove wrinkles.

Nettle root and leaf extracts, usually mixed with other herbal elixirs, can also be found in dietary supplements formulated to purify the blood, stop hair loss, improve various scalp conditions, and stimulate the growth of healthy hair.

Pumpkin (Cucurbita Maxima): The oil extract from pumpkin seeds has long been used as hair supplement. The extract has shown activity against testosterone in prostate studies, theoretically this may mean that it would be helpful in reducing hair loss.

Eleuthero, formerly Siberian Ginseng, has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine since about 190 AD. Russian scientific studies suggest that Eleuthero may help the body cope with various types of stress.

Uva Ursi

Uva Ursi extract, which is also known as bearberry, has a long historical use in medicinal practices going all the way back to the 2nd century. It was used by Native Americans to help with urinary tract infections and was still in use for that treatment until the discovery of the antibiotics we use today to treat that condition.

The plant itself is an evergreen shrub that is found in alpine forests in many different countries such as Europe, North America and Siberia. It has pink or white bell shaped flowers. Bears are said to like the shiny pink or red berries that grow on this plant, which is how it got the alternative name, bearberry. When used, the leaves are dried and ground into a usable power like substance. The berries are not used since they do not have medicinal properties and are very sour to the taste. The leaves are then added to whatever application is being prepared.
Common Uses

In its relation to helping with hair loss products one has to look into what can cause hair loss and it outlaying causes. Uva Ursi extract helps with the treatment of infections, specifically in the urinary tract and in the bladder. It has been found to also help with kidney stones and it is absorbed in the stomach and changed into something that has not only antimicrobial properties, but is it a disinfectant and astringent as well.

By serving as something that has a positive effect on inflamed tissue and irritation, it allows for a greater flow of urine from the body by neutralizing acidity in the urine. This allows for the reduction of water retention in the body, which is very important for hair growth.

Water-retention, also known as edema, can affect almost any and every part of the body. Essentially, it means that the body is holding onto more water in the tissues that it should and this can cause a host of problems ranging from swollen hands, feet and legs to heart problems and breathing issues. Through the swelling of the tissues, blood flow is restricted causing the vital nutrients needed for proper hair growth to get to the follicles. Along with the lack of supplies needed, the stretching and pressure placed on the skin will damage the follicles as well causing them to stop working as they should in growing new hair. Without the growth of new hair every day, the 100 to 200 hairs a human head loses on average each day will show as a slow loss of hair over time.

Conclusion

By allowing the body to process the urine properly in the bladder and kidneys, Uva Ursi extract makes it easier for the body to pass the excess water in the body which will prevent the body from swelling up from excess water retention. Not only does this natural and ancient herb help with hair loss prevention by aiding the body in its water retention issues, it can also help protect against general infections and create a better and overall healthier body.
