Halifax Apartment Rentals
74Searching for your Next Home in Halifax?
Looking for an apartment in Halifax isn't always the easiest thing to do. Sure you can open up the news paper and look for Halifax apartments but it's almost more of a chore then an enjoyable search. Some people won't call you back when you leave messages, others seem like they might not want to deal with you even though they have a place for rent.
It doesn't have to be that difficult to find an apartment for rent in Halifax. The easiest way to get around this is to hire a rental agency to either find you your next apartment. Or look through their own listings for a place to live. You'll find that most apartment rental agencies in Halifax have a variety of listings in the:
- South End
- West End
- Central
- Clayton Park area
- even on the outskirts in Bedford, Timberlea etc.
A few other tips for finding perfect Halifax apartments
Consider taking a drive or walk through the ideal area you'd like to live in. There are a lot of smaller Landlords in Halifax that own one or two buildings. This is especially good if you're looking for a unique flat in an older house converted to rental units. You can often find a for rent sign on a windows in the ideal neighborhood you'd like to live.
If you're looking for a Halifax apartment to rent on the outskirts of the city, or suburbs consider contacting one of the larger building owners. Especially in the Clayton park area you can often walk into a building contact the super and they can give you an application for several of their buildings, and tell you where there are vacancies.
Where should you look for your Halifax Apartment?
Clayton Park/Fairview is the easiest place to live for access to shopping (Bayers Lake, and Halifax shopping center via Bus). Also there are numerous chain resteraunts, drug stores, grocery stores within walking distance. Rents aren't to bad, you can expect to pay between $700-$1100 for a Two bedroom in a newer building. Most buildings are multi unit, meaning 20 apartments or more.
Downtown Halifax apartments are more unique, often an older Halifax home has been converted into a variety of flats (apartment with a bit more style). The rents are usually more expensive, but for those wanting to keep up with the beat of the city nothings better then living downtown. Clubs, resteraunts, and unique boutique shopping are never more then a bus or cab ride away.
Cost will vary depending on where you want to live. South End Halifax being the most expensive, with median pricing in Central near the Shopping malls, and bit lower in North End.
