Halloween costumes in roleplaying goes hand-in hand but often we don’t necessarily think of our Halloween costumes in that way. Role playing involves taking on the role of someone else. Young and old alike: Isn’t taking on the persona of someone or something else, what we do when we put on a costume during Halloween anyway?

Often, it is the only time we will allow ourselves to expose our alter egos without the fear of embarrassment or repercussion. This is the time of year when “it is acceptable to be unacceptable”- is how we normally think of Halloween.

I say, roleplaying should not be confined to the time of Halloween. While it would be unacceptable to wear your mask in a liquor store at any other time, couples, especially, should also think about the benefits of incorporating their Halloween costumes for use in the privacy of their own homes.

Sometimes couples engage in role playing to spice up their relationships. This type of role playing often is a prelude to intimate seductions. Many couples find it keeps their sex life from becoming too stagnant.

Your costumes should be indicative of the personality you want to portray. For example, you could select literally any Halloween Costume and use it as a Roleplaying Costume such as a Pirate Costume. You could both wear pirate costumes or how about a pirate paired with a pirate wench costume, or a pirate paired with a Mermaid Costume or even a pirate wench paired with a shark costume? The possibilities are endless.

Halloween Costumes in Games

On the lighter side, role playing games are a great way to pass the time.

How do we incorporate our Halloween costumes for role playing games? People set into their role by becoming and visualizing their character. People take on the role of that particular character in a manner to win the game.

For those that love acting, it is just a part of their nature. They can play these types of games to be able to develop their acting skills further. It allows them to always be engaging in different roles too so they can expand their character. Often, actors comment that by wearing a Vampire Costume and in full makeup, makes them really visualize and emote the part of Count Dracula or sexy Vampiress character.

There are some different types of role playing games out there as well and many, if not all adult Halloween games, incorporate the concept of role playing.

In my opinion, the best time to purchase these costumes and games is during Halloween when sexy Halloween costumes and adult Halloween games are out en-masse. During this time, it isn’t embarrassing to purchase the games at all since everyone else is doing the same thing.

Halloween All Year Long

You don’t even have to use your Halloween costumes only during Halloween. Use them later. No one will know!

Host a costume parties or themed dinner parties for just about any occasion. In this way, your Halloween costume can be used over and over again throughout the year and for any excuse for party.

Do you need more excuses to wear your Halloween costume? How about a who-dunnit party or a murder mystery game with your guests dressed in character.

Another Pirates of the Caribbean Movie coming out? Keep the theme broad so your idea won’t be rejected by your guests who would prefer to reuse their Halloween costumes to save money. Instead of a Pirates of the Caribbean them, call it a “By the Sea Adventure Theme” and all will be happy to participate.

Some types of role playing games have been around for a very long time. Many of them were incorporated by soldiers when they were part of long shifts and couldn’t go home. They were also very popular during the depression when people couldn’t afford to be a part of the various types of entertainment that were offered.

Today, there are Civil War Re-Enactments where you find the same uniforms worn during Halloween, being used throughout the year in these groups that gather on a weekly or once a month basis in order to play the game.

Take your Halloween costumes to the next level and creatively visualize events to where you can wear them again and again - all year around. The X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie came out earlier this year and you can be sure that there will be many Wolverine Costumes on the streets this Halloween!
