Decorate your Entire Home with these Fun Halloween Decoration Ideas!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Okay, so it's not really a holiday, I mean you don't get a day off of work for it. But, it's so much fun! The kids in costumes run amok through the neighborhood in search of tricks or treat, ghoulish decor can be found in gardens and yards, and creepy soundtracks can be heard blaring from open garage doors.

The aftermath, however, can be even scarier than the ghosts and creepie crawlies. Rain-drenched cloth spiderwebs hang from trees, all the left over candy, which of course, you have to eat rather than let it go to waste, and a very happy dentist who gets to fill all those cavities. But, it's well worth it.

However, if you're more inclined to stay in for Halloween, or better yet, host Halloween at your home, you're going to need to bring the party -- and the decor -- in with you! Below you'll find ideas for transforming every room in your house into spook central!

Creepy Kitchen and Dining

I know most people associate Thanksgiving with the kitchen and a large dining room table spread, what with all the candied yams, cranberry sauce, and a giant steaming turkey. Yep, all fine and traditional. Make up for all the pomp and circumstance by celebrating Halloween with some irreverence, some spooks and creepy crawlies, and with many more treats than tricks.

While in the kitchen, tying on a really cool Halloween apron while stirring your cauldron will get you in the mood for an evening of hosting ghosts and goblins for a night of horrificly delicious dining fun! Next, set the stage for the main event with Halloween pattern napkins and a matching table cloth or table runner.

Make your Living Room Suitable for the Undead!

Sure YOU might live in your living room, but all the ghosts and ghouls who visit on Halloween would love to have a place where they can be comfortable in their own element. You can find a whole lot of creepy Halloween decorations sure to be the hit of any Halloween party you host.

Giant cheesecloth spiderwebs hanging in the corners of your room will add a haunting, hollow feeling to your room. A large variety of creepy crawlies can be hung from your walls and ceiling, including giant spiders, life-size skeletons, and scary demons descending upon the unsuspecting humans inhabiting your world.

Of course, brightness is a definite no-no. Darkness and dimly lit rooms are a must when attempting to create a ghoulish Halloween ambiance. There are many options to choose from when selecting candles, candleholders, and candelabra; or try some purple or orange tube lighting around the perimeter of your room.

Bewitching Bathrooms

When decorating an entire house for Halloween this year, don't forget that frightful room that everyone is going to visit at one time or another during the evening. The bathroom! Let's face it, most people doll up the main couple of rooms that the guests will hang out in, and the ambiance is so great and festive. Then, they pop into the "necessary room" and BAM! nothing!

Scare up some really awesome finger towels and pumpkin soaps for your bathroom sink. Go all out with a crazy toilet seat cover and matching throw rugs. For a really scary addition, put up a roll of printed toilet paper covered with skulls and cross bones.

Things That Go Bump In the Night

So, the party is over, the zombies have returned to their crypts, and you and your favorite night crawler are ready to turn in for the evening.  The Halloween party can continue into the night with creepy and comfy bedding.  Choose matching sheets and pillow cases and snuggle in for a good night's sleep.

As a final touch, slip into some warm flannel Halloween pjs, or slither into a slinky, bewitching teddy for a killer evening for two.
