Be Safe and Fun

Are you afraid your little cape crusaders will catch the swine flu? By following these halloween swine flu tips for parents you will greatly reduce their exposure.

Make sure they keep their hands out of their mouths!

Kids are notorious for this they don't think about it they just do it. Its like second nature to them.

Keep hand sanitizer with you while trick or treating!

Many places sell little travel size hand sanitizer bottles that easily slip into a pocket or purse. This way you don't have to feel like a super freak.

Add a Mask

It might be a little late to change costumes but you can always alter them. If you haven't bought a costume yet steer your kids towards ideas like a Niinja or Darth Vader, something that covers their mouth. If you have already bought a costume figure out a way to add a mask. Let's say your son wants to be Thomas the train add a hankerchief and also make him a conductor.

Dont let them share candy.

Kids are taught that sharing is good and they don't think about if another kid is sick.

No double dipping- We can thank Jerry Sienfeld for this one.

Wash their hands before they eat their candy!

Stay away from congested areas

Try and avoid parties and social gatherings indoors, this increases their exposure significantly.

Ultimately have fun don't worry but do use good judgement and take the necessary precautions.
