Halloween is believed to be a Holiday based around old Celtic tradition to show the relativity of the spirit world and the living world. Druids (Celtic Priest) would robe themselves in Animal heads and skins and create monuments in attempt to pay homage to the deceased so that they could reveal their future fortunes. Roman Influences on Halloween can also be noted. They celebrated two days which were Feralia and Samhain. Feralia, a day in late October, is when the Romans would commemorate the passing of the dead. Also, Samhain Gave hommage to Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. It is widely accepted that "bobbing for apples" is another Halloween event that can be traced back to Roman Tradition.

Present day Halloween is probably most influenced by Pope Boniface IV (800 a.d.) who assigned November 1 All Saints' Day, a time to pay homage to Saints and Martyrs. But many scholars believe the pope was trying proselytize pagan worshipers. This event was sometimes called All-hallows or All-hallowmas, which many believe to mean 'all saints day'. By 1000 A.D. the church made November 2 all souls day. This would be the day to honor the dead. People would dress up as saints, demons and gather around bonfires. This merging of pagan practices with Christianity is probably were we get the modern concept of Halloween.
