Hamburger recipe
70This is absolutely the best hamburger recipe I have ever used. These burgers go great on the grill, fried in a pan or baked in the oven.
In this recipe we're going to assume it's a nice warm summer day and you're ready to cook out on the grill and enjoy a few cold ones!
If you enjoy this recipe, go ahead and give me a big thumbs up on the bottom!
Ingredient list
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef (80/20 works best!)
- 1/2 white or red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
- 1 egg (Used as abinder to hold everything together)
- 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder (If you don't LOVE garlic, use the clove or powder but not both)
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregan
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
- salt and pepper to taste (About 1 tsp each or less depending on how you like it)
- A splash of your favorite beer (1-2 ounces is plenty)
Directions
- Start your grill and set the heat to high (for gas) or allow charcoal to turn about 80% gray.
- Close your grill about 5 minutes to let the grate get VERY hot (be careful!)
- While the grill is heating, mix ingredients above in a bowl
- Form 4 patties from the mixture, making them about 25% LARGER than the buns or bread you'll be using. While the patties cook they will shrink.
- Cook the patties on the grill about 5 minutes for each side on high with the lid closed and vents fully opened
- Serve on bread or bun with your favorite condiments
