Hamstring Stretches. Millions of Americans each year suffer from sore or tight

hamstrings. This leads many people to stop doing the things

they love such as running, playing sports, or working out.

Ice, heat, and daily stretching will help increase hamstring

flexibility and get you active again. Here are some simple

stretches you can do:

- Using a towel, place it on the bottom of your foot while in a seated position and slowly lean back extending your arms and foot until you are on your back.

- Pull down on the towel.

- Hold stretch for 10-20 seconds then repeat 3-5 times.

- Stretch to the point of discomfort, not pain.

If you have chronically tight or sore hamstrings you should consider purchasing a stretching aid. A stretching aid will allow you to receive a deeper, targeted and more effective stretch.

Daily stretching, ice, and heat should improve your hamstring within 1-3 weeks.

Antidepressant medications probably provide little or no benefit to people with mild or moderate depression, a new study has found. Rather, the mere act of seeing a doctor, discussing symptoms and learning about depression probably triggers the improvements many patients experience while on medication. - 2 days ago

  • Weight gain from quitting smoking linked to diabetes

Former smokers have a greater risk of developing diabetes than smokers or nonsmokers. But researchers say that's due to the pounds people tend to gain after quitting. • Fitness boot camps offer what gyms cannot

Instructors shuffle exercises between cardio and muscle building, and participants foster camaraderie not found in gyms. When the New Year's resolution calls for getting in shape fast, joining a gym and pushing yourself hard every day probably won't happen. What will work? Having someone scream, "Drop and give me 20!" - 4 days ago
