Times are tough. Just when you think you have things figured out... they're wrong! Is the American dream alive, dormant, or has it become extinct? Are corporations all conspiring to ruin the (so called) middle class and are executives and CEOs getting rich on the backs of hard working Americans?

I own the domain Hanginthere.com. I want to use this domain to create a web site where everyone can either tell their own stories or offer help and/or assistant to others as to how they can navigate the troubled waters of life in these United States these days. My question is, "If I build it, will they come?" I will build the framework, but leave it to the public to fill the site with comments, videos, suggestions, ideas, and anything that might help people "HANG IN THERE"... until things get better.

Anyone with comments, suggestions or willingness to help are welcome!

First of all, the comment section is for other's to make comments on your Hub. Your hubs need to be a little longer, and possible include a link or two. May I suggest reading other hubs and keep editing till you get the hub you like. By the way...they will come. Welcome to Hub.

I suppose this "HUB" is about to be flagged as being "substandard"? I guess it is a test Hub, but I am just trying to get my points across quickly and to-the-point. I would write more, but I believe I would just come across as being on a "soap box" and blowing off steam. I would much rather hear what others have to say and whether the idea of developing HangInThere.com as a web site is a good idea? I am very much looking forward to hearing others thoughts on the matter. As well if anyone would be interested in partaking in this social experiment. I don't really want it to become a political debate, but more of a "how to" for living through today's tough times. For instance, I have just gone through the mortgage modification process. I believe that I have won this game of "Chicken" I have been playing with my mortgage company. And if so, it would be like winning the lottery. I have heard only about 20,000 of the millions of people applying for a loan modification have actually been approved. If I were to develop Hanginthere.com, I would be putting up a Blog as to my experience in my attempt to obtain a loan modification and then explain to others the working points as to what needs to be done in order to have a positive outcome... hopefully! I say "hopefully" because I was told by a representative over the phone that a loan modification has been approved and that a agreement was to be already sent to me via FedEx on July 29. However, I have yet to receive this paperwork. And until I receive a contract, nothing is for sure and not a legal contract as yet. Yet I have sent in payments that have been accepted and applied to my account. I have been told that any money accepted by the mortgage company conveys a legal, binding contract and thus halts any forecloser proceedings.

I hope that this additional "blah, blah, blah" by myself will satisfy HubPages and they will not consider my new "Hub" as "substandard"? Also, is a "Hub" their term for a "Blog"? I am new to this "Blog thing" and not sure if what I am attempting is a blog or some other online form of conversation that goes by another name like a "plink" or "Blip"?
