Hangover Helper

As a college student, I've grown to learn a thing or two about hangovers. Though I'm only in my second semester, I've had my fair share to try and deal with.
- Drink water. Replacing the fluids you lost during your wild night out is crucial. You can also get these fluids from fruit juices, (especially energy drinks, which contain electrolytes that will greatly help with dehydration) and broths. Avoid soda and coffee, as they can dehydrate you further.
- My favorite way to get rid of a hangover is simply to sleep it off. Nothing lessens the throbbing of your head, or the pangs in your stomach. It is certainly not a guarantee, and it doesn't always work as well as you'd like, but combined with some other tricks, it'll help immensely.
- Eat food. Every person has a different "hangover food". For me, it's bagels, pizza or chicken tenders. I've heard a lot of people insist that bread or similar foods are great, because they "soak" the alcohol from your system...but if you're experiencing a hangover, chances are the alcohol is already gone, (Unless you wake up still drunk, in which case...wow.) You'll just have to try around and see what works best for you. Foods with sodium tend to help, because you'll be replacing what was lost. It might not make you feel better, but your body will thank you. If your stomach is fragile, much on some saltines or animal crackers till it has its legs back, and then see if you can down some more solid foods.
There is really no way to truly cure or prevent a hangover, other than to refrain from drinking or be a smart drinker. There's ways to make your hangover more bearable by taking a few precautions the night before. I've read on quite a few hangover-related sites that taking Vitamin C before drinking, and even the morning of you hangover will greatly combat that nasty headache. I don't know how "scientific" it is, but I've been doing it for some time, and I swear it works!
Drink on a full stomach. This slows the process by which alcohol enters the bloodstream, meaning you get drunk slower. It'll help the next morning and also make you less likely to get sick that night, assuming you drink responsibly. Taking one or two Ibuprofen or an Alka-Seltzer will help with your head when you finally decide to rise from your alcohol-induced slumber. Most importantly, pace yourself. Binge drinking will almost definitely result in a nasty hangover the morning after. Avoid drinking games, shots and anything else that will result in you having a large amount of alcohol in your system at once.
Drinking can be fun, but it must be done responsibly. If you're going to be silly...prepare for the results the morning after!

haha, who doesn't worship a hungover polar bear!
I, for one, almost never get hang overs, but my cure is to have a bottle of water, large, sitting next to my bed before going out, usually drunkingly drink some, and waking up dying of thirst requires no movement!
