Your Brain Needs Exercise, Too

When I first heard about Happy Neuron, I thought it was kind of a crazy idea... I mean, who ever heard of exercising your brain? But, the more I learned about this idea, the better sense it made.

What Happy Neuron (or HAPPYNeuron) does is help you develop brain fitness by a series of games that are fun and scientificlly developed to challenge your brain and keep it in top gear at all times. Just like a top athlete who works out his muscles to stay in shape -- that's what Happy Neuron does -- except it works on your brain!

You may not be able to relatle, but as I was growing older, I seemed to find myself always searching... for my keys, for the right word (always on the tip of my tongue). Sometimes even trying to remember what I had just started!

And, with today's emphasis on youthfulness, I was determined to keep my mental edge. It was something I had always been proud of, and if exercising my brain would help me keep it, then I'd just have to "suck it up" and exercise my brain!

Besides, I found out that “Studies have shown that rich and varied cognitive stimulations can delay the onset of age related brain decline and Alzheimer's disease.”

I knew I didn't want MY brain to decline with age... So, I decided to visit the Happy Neuron webite and try out some of the free games.

The first one I did was easy breezy, and I whizzed through it with a perfect score. Confident that I was in pretty good "brain shape" , I bumped the difficulty level up from 1 to 3, thinking it would be no big deal!. Boy was I wrong. I completely failed to identify 8 locations the game revealed... or even the order in which they were revealed.

So, I moved on to one of the "language" games -- and was not happy when I found that my results were far below the "best response" times.

Well, they had me. I signed up for a 1 month free trial.

I found out that they have games to exercise all areas of your brain:

  • Memory Games
  • Attention Games
  • Language Games
  • Executive Function Games
  • Visual Spatial Games

Each games shows you which areas of the brain it is "exercising", and then lets you choose the level of difficulty. As a word of caution... I found that is is best to start at a LOWER level than I think I am capable. May be just a way to psych my confidence, but I've found it definitely helps to score HIGH on the current level before moving on to the more difficult exercises.

I now have been using Happy Neuron for 2 months. The results have been remarkable. I see my old, quick wit returning. (Maybe I should say my "young", quick wit!). And, I stay more mentally focused throughout the day.

I've gotten my husband involved, too. Since we are both pretty competitive by nature, this is a fun way to challenge each other to stay in top mental shape.

This is one product that really does what it claims to do. I recommend Happy Neuron to anyone who wants to stay on top of their mental game.
