What's the first thing that pops into your mind when you think of America? Is it freedom? There are many things we can look to in our history that give us a sense of what America is about. Maybe dads old chevy embodies that spirit, perhaps grampa's war chest in the attic, or maybe even the old house up the road that was built when the pilgrims strolled off the ship to moon England for the first time. These are all great examples, but some argue that Harley Davidson embodies the freedom of this country better than anything else. Why, you ask? Because what gives us more of a sense of freedom than flying down the road on the back of one? The wind all around us, that trademark sound thundering out of the pipes same as always. Its not a ride so much as its an experience. You never forget your first ride and you never regret your second.

Harley Davidson Apparel

People love Harleys. They are a part of our history and although they can be a little rough around the edges, sometimes thats what we're looking for. Harley Davidson apparel serves a definite purpose. When on the bike its for protection. The leather jacket and chaps prevents road rash if you ever fall off. It keeps us warm at high speeds and even can protect from debris and bad weather. Despite what most may think, its not all about flaming skulls. It can be a significant part of your wardrobe if you choose it to be, but there are plenty of clothes that don't incorporate this design. I have black button down shirts that have nothing but a small company logo on the pocket, or even t-shirts that are more reserved by design. All are great quality and will probably never wear out.

There is something timeless about bikes, they don't look that much different than when they first started out so long ago. Its refreshing to see a new one and realize its genuine leather, metal, and true the original idea. When you wear a Harley shirt its like your saying, "This is a piece of our history that I'm proud of" Sure we've done a lot of stupid things, like hire politicians out of the bodybuilding and movie star pool, but Harley was actually something we did right. There is nothing wrong with throwing some bad ass clothes in the closet to round out the wardrobe. Something that says, "I've got spirit and piss on Luis Vuitton" It is true that women look stunning in lingerie, however, you have to cover it up with something, and Harley gear can look almost as sexy. My girlfriend has a harley jacket her mom gave her that I wish I could wear, unfortunately the cut is wrong and I look ridiculous. When she wears it however its hot!! Harley gear is unique, has character and even the boots are unrivaled in their coolness. Can you think of anything more badass than a pair of engineer riding boots to wear with black jeans? Me neither.

To be honest, I don't own a Harley. Someday I will but for now its a bit out of my price range. I have ridden however and am hooked. Some of my clothes are gifts, some I've bought myself but all have character. You can wear team logos that feed whining overpaid baseball players, you can wear a "vote for Bush" t-shirt, and can even wear the latest most expensive b.s. Abercrombie and Finch can convince your kids they need. You might as well wear something with a bit of presence, a lot of history, and that will last you until your next ride. Don't worry, if its just until you have to put your suit back on to go to work thats ok too, thats where I am, and there is nothing wrong with that.
