Tattoos of Harry Potter and Harry Potter Characters

Harry Potter tattoos are growing more in popularity as young fans come of age and make the decision to have some Potter-themed body art.

I found it harder to find quality tattoos of the major three young characters, while some of the villains and older characters got better ink.

The one I was able to find of Harry, Ron and Hermione was difficult to tell if it was really a tattoo, or a photo-shopped image, which we'll look at later. If it is a real tattoo, it was horribly made, as Harry Potter's nostril was twice as big and lower on the one side than the other; one of the reasons it may not be real. Ron and Hermione actually look pretty good in the photo, while Harry is a disaster.

Either way, we'll take a look at a number of Harry Potter tattoo themes and let you enjoy some of the better ink I was able to find of them.

Tattoos of Harry Potter Himself

The first batch of Harry Potter tattoos will be of Harry Potter himself, and then we'll go to other characters in the franchise, as well as some other themes related to the films and story.

As you'll see, there are many versions and interpretations of Harry Potter, and some of them are from the earlier years, and some from later on.

Young Harry Potter Anime Tattoo

What better than a Harry Potter anime tattoo if you're a fan of both? This tattoo is huge on the woman's side, and portrays Harry when he's really young and just getting started.

I like the way the scarf hangs down behind his feet, emphasizing how young he is.

Harry Potter Playing Quidditch trying to catch Snitch

In this tattoo we have Harry Potter flying on his broom playing Quidditch, with Snitch just out of reach of his hand.

Harry Potter Flying on Broom Waving to Friends

While I like this tattoo of Harry Potter flying on his broom waving to his friends, as far as a good theme; and you get the feel he is really moving in it. Yet the fact that he's not sitting on the broom takes some away from it, as that would be realistic at all.

Unfortunately with this tattoo, it looks like Harry Potter is walking while holding his broom between his legs, while the additional lines showing he's flying are hard to believe.

Tattoo of Angry Harry Potter

This tattoo of Harry Potter has him looking ready to kill someone, as he's full of anger. I like his robes and realistic look on his face, but the hands here are terrible, and are out of place with the rest of the tattoo which isn't too badly done.

Head Tattoo Harry Potter

As far as quality of design, this is one of the better tattoos of Harry Potter, but it gives you more the feel of a scholar than who Harry is in the show, and while the glasses and their shadow are well done, it just doesn't feel like Harry Potter, but that's a small quibble for a good tattoo.

Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione Tattoo?

Here's the alleged tattoo I mentioned above, which as far as Ron and Hermione go, is pretty well done. The question is whether it's really a tattoo or not, or a photo-shopped image over an leg.

Even if this was a tattoo, which I'm doubtful it is, it's terrible as far as the Harry Potter image. Look at the disproportion of the nose to see how badly the image is. I don't think a tattoo artist would have tattooed over that poorly of a designed figure. They would have easily seen the discrepancy and re-designed it.

Harry, Ron and Hermione or Photoshop over leg?

Harry Potter Time Turner Tattoo

Here's the little device that allowed Harry Potter to go back in time to save Sirius. Fun that someone liked it enough to ink it on their body.

Snitch Tattoo Harry Potter

Like the time turner tattoo, Snitch was another favorite object from the Harry Potter books and films, and may be the most tattooed object from the story there is.

Harry Potter Dark Mark Tattoo

Here's another frequent tattoo from Harry Potter, which I think is popular because of the skull and snake, which is used in other tattoo design themes as well.

More Harry Potter Tattoo Figures from Story - Snape

Now we'll move into some other allies and villains related to Harry Potter, and we'll begin with Snape, who is always a curious character which the storyteller always hints at as being unable to determine which side he is on.

Nice tattoo, but the photo of it isn't the best.

Sirius Black Tattoo

This is a really good tattoo of Sirius Black, it's a shame the lighting wasn't better for the person taking the photo, as the detail and likeness are high quality.

Voldemort Tattoo

There's no uncertainty as to who this is and the role Voldemort plays in the Harry Potter series. It is interesting to see someone want him inked in such a big way on their body. Well done tattoo though.

Quality Dumbledore Tattoo

This is a really great design and tattoo of Dumbledore. It can't be emphasized enough how hard that beard would be to make, and as you can see from the side-by-side comparison, it's extraordinary in quality and detail.

Bellatrix Lestrange Tattoo

Of all the Harry Potter themed tattoos, there's no contest as to my favorite, and that is this one of Bellatrix Lestrange, which captures her essence, evil and devotion to Voldemort, and the quality of the tattoo design is magnificent.

That hand sticking out is done great, and her face shows the devotion of one fanatically devoted to a person and cause, like her character in the show really is.

Tattoos Inspired from Harry Potter

Again, I was surprise at the lack of tattoos of Ron and Hermione, along with the more moderate quality of Harry Potter himself.

But the other characters in the story got better and better, and the quality of the last few tattoos were very good.

I hope you enjoyed this look at the tattoos inspired from Harry Potter.
