Now the Harry Potter series is over, what is next for JK Rowling, one would think she will retire or take a hiatus from work, but that is not the case. Today JK Rowling said she is back to work and is writing two stories at the same time.In an interview with USA Today, JK Rowling said she was sad that she had to end the Harry Potter series, but that won't keep her stopping from writing more stories. She announced earlier that she will write an eighth Harry Potter book, an encyclopedia about the Harry Potter series.

The two stories she is writing, one is for children, the other one is for adults. But only one will be released to the public. It seems she did the same thing when she started writing Harry Potter in the 1990s.

I was writing two things simultaneously for a year before Harry took over. So one will oust the other in due course, and I'll know that's my next thing."

She also talked about the latest book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which has sold more than eleven million copies within the first 24 hours of release. When she heard the book was released earlier on the web, she was very angry.

Rowling hoped the Harry Potter series would live on and expects them to last long.

So far 325 million copies of Harry Potter books have been sold and have been translated to more than 64 languages. The movies of Harry Potter series also have been a huge success.

Will the new book of JK Rowling be a big hit like Harry Potter series? I think so, she almost has no competition, and since she has a huge fan following, anything she writes will be a hit. Will they mirror the success of Harry Potter series, we have to wait and see.

That's great news. That is the best photo I've seen of J.K. Rowling.

Thanks Angela, she will become twice richer than the Queen Elizabeth after all said and done. She might be the first writer to be like that, I am glad writing is appreciated.

J. K. Rowling is an inspiration to writers everywhere. In a classic, rags-to-riches scenario, she embraced what she was most passionate about and ran with it. I'm sure she had well-meaning people telling her to get her head out of the clouds and get a real job. Thank goodness she didn't listen!

I am very glad to hear J.K. Rowling is writing more books. After spending hours every night reading books 6 and 7 to my children, we were at a loss as to what to read next. What other book would transport a mom and her kids to such an incredible world the way the Harry Potter series has. Nothing so far compares! We are all suffering from Harry Potter withdrawal!

JK Rowling has done something that writers all over the world dream about. Imagine going from being a single mom, I believe collecting public assistance, to being richer than the queen.

I've read all the Harry Potter books to my son, Tyler. In fact, just tonight I finished reading the Half-Blood Prince for probably the sixth time. This is a child with ADHD, but she has so captivated this boy that it's amazing.

I feel it is entirely unlikely that JK Rowling will write a spinoff series, because let's face it, after the world has fallen in love with Harry, even a series like Potter: The Next Generation could never live up to what she's done with this series.

That said, I firmly believe that writers write because that's what they do. If JK Rowling were to just slink away into oblivion and never write again, I strongly suspect people would be justifiably angry.

Excellent site. You may want to check out mine, too. Although it's not a traditional sword and sorcery type of fantasy, I've written a novel titled Antiquity Calais: Standing At Armageddon. Let me know what you think!

Thanks Jim, she is still young and I am sure she will have other ideas in mind. It is tough to top Harry Potter, but I am sure her fans will be thrilled to read her new novels. Good luck with your novel. Cheers.

Thanks for joining my fan club. I'm pleased to reciprocate. I'm sure Rowling will draw a significant portion of her Potter fan base to whatever comes next for her. It's not like other fantasy authors have not been able to have more than one successful series in their career, and as you note, Jo is still young.

I concur with Angela - that is an excellent picture of Jo.
