General Information

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility is the first ever Harvest Moon game made specifically to work with the Wii's remote and controls. It's slated for release August 26th, 2008 in the US.

It is the biggest Harvest Moon game to date. The game will feature the farm standards: chickens, cows, goats, and sheep, in addition to a dog and cat. Rumored additions include exotics such as silkworms and ostriches. Wild animal adoptions include penguins, monkeys, wild dogs, bears, boars, pandas and turtles.

Players are given the option of which gender they'd like to play, which is much more modern than their previous games, in my opinion.

This game seems very different stylistically than the other Harvest Moon games. Nonetheless, the art is charming, if not slightly whimsical.

Plot

At the beginning of the game, players are given a choice of a boy or a girl. Then they begin to live on an enchanted island featuring a goddess and a tree. When the goddess disappears and the tree dries up, it's up to the player to restore the tree, thus saving the island. Once this mission is accomplished, the game can be played indefinitely.

Game Features

  • Boys and girls are playable on one disk.
  • Get married. Spouse makes you lunch everyday, in addition to providing you with a child.
  • Play as your child. All items and money remain intact. Relationships with the villagers are reset. but that's as it should be. You're playing with a different person now, after all.
  • Decorate your home.
  • Change your clothes.
  • Innovative use of the Wii remote. Use it to till soil, water crops, hack down trees, and even for fishing.
  • Multiplayer minigames.
