The peacock is the male of the peafowl species that has a wide and marvelous plumage. It’s mate called the peahen, can lay between 3 to 28 eggs a year. Many of these eggs are being hatched artificially in an incubator by many enthusiasts.

The humidity should be controlled by using the ventilation shafts and by adding water pans to induce more humidity. Three days before hatching peacock eggs, the temperature within the incubator should remain constant.

The humidity inside the incubator is of prime importance for hatching peacock eggs. If the humidity is too high or too low, the hatching will fail. If the humidity is very low, the amount of air will be too much at the time of hatching. The egg yolk will become very thick and sticky and the chick will not be able to turn. Before the eggs are directly placed within the incubator, they should be brought down to room temperature. Thrice a day, the egg must be turned. Most people turn the eggs an odd number of times per day. This is to make sure that the eggs will not rest in the same position at night. Using a bright torch, shine the light through the shell and record whether there has been any development so far. If after 10 days, there is no growth within the egg, it should be removed as it is probably not fertile.

On the 28th day, the eggs should not be turned anymore and the humidity should be increased to at least 90 percent. Before the peacock eggs get hatched completely, prepare a dry warm location to place them once they arrive. One should never lend a hand to hatching peacock eggs as they need to mature on their own. Once the eggs have fully hatched, the peachicks should be transferred to their new dry surroundings carefully.
