Chuck Palahniuk is a best-selling author who has had eight books published since 1996, including Fight Club, Survivor, Invisible Monsters, Choke, Lullaby, Diary, Haunted, Rant and Snuff. Specifically, Haunted was published in 2005.

Haunted serves as a great example of how a group of short stories told by individual characters can interrelate with a storyline that involves them collectively, and form a cohesive novel. As the collective plot unfolds with each passing chapter, and the nineteen characters tell their stories one by one, depravity never ceases to present itself in the most intriguing of situations. However, Haunted is not merely an excercise in depravity or shock value since the novel's ultimate strong suit lies within the staggering number of paradoxes that Palahniuk touches upon, such as "when people don't have a monster, they'll make sure to create one."

All things considered, just about anyone who won't be driven away by sections that go into great detail about masturbation or being burned to death should enjoy Haunted.
