The former Lincoln Home in Springfield Illinois is haunted by President Abraham Lincoln and by a older white woman that may have been a servant. President Lincoln gets the name of being a very polite ghost. He sometimes tells people to please leave his former bedroom but he says please and thank you. When he is seen on the above steps he never speaks. He is seen on the steps carrying papers and hurrying down the steps. He has even been known to walk thru people. The older lady seen in the house is seen in the living room area and usually has a cleaning rag in her hand. Many orbs have also been captured on film all through out the house.  

Many cities across the United States claim to be the most haunted city in the United States but Chicago quite possibly has the most ghosts of any city in the United States. The ghosts reported to make Chicago home range from the ghost of John Wayne Gacy, the killer clown serial killer to the ghosts of the victims of Indian Massacres. And don't forget all the gangsters that made Chicago home and many of them died tragicly. And tragedy is associated with ghosts and the paranormal. Usually if someone dies under tragic circumstances a ghost story follows shortly. And the city of Chicago is just simply filled with stories of tragedy and ghosts.

Bachelors Grove Cemetery

Bachelors Grove Cemetery is one of Chicago's most haunted grave yards. In the photo above of the true ghost photo you can clearly see the photo of a figure in the photo. If its not a real ghost what is it. Most people say it appears to be the figure of a man walking along. Bachelors Grove Cemetery has been investigated by Paranormal Investigators for many years and they all say that the Bachelors Grove Cemetery is one of the most haunted places they have ever been. Burials in the cemetery date back to 1830 or before and it is estimated that 300 or more graves are in the cemetery. People see what they call shadow people like the ghostly shape caught in the photo above walking around. Their is also darker spirits that shove people and order them out of the cemetery. Orbs are seen often in the cemetery. And many people over the years have searched for hours for a crying baby they can not find. Police have been called many times over the years to find the crying baby which no one can find.

Lincoln Park

Over the years Lincoln Park has been a hot spot of Paranormal activity. The ghosts of American Indians , Soldiers from the frontier era and many others are said to haunt the area in and around Lincoln Park. It is a recorded fact of history that at different times in history many frontiersmen lost their life's to American Indians in this area and in 1844, 27 Potawatomi Indians were captured and burned alive in this area. Many people over the years have claimed to see a huge fire burning in the park and people screaming. When you get so close to the fire it vanishes. A young woman from the late 1918-1925 era is also seen often walking in the park hurrying along. She has been known to ask people if they have seen her boyfriend and then vanish. A large black dog is also seen in this area. You see it approach from a distance but when it gets near to you it seems to jump into the air and vanish.

People claim to see John Wayne Gacy all the time on Summerdale Avenue in Des Plaines Illinois. He is seen both in his clown make up and with out it. He usually is seen walking around the area of where his home once stood. People also report other peoples ghosts in the area , a horrible smell , and ghastly screams for help.

Alton Illinois has some very beautiful homes and the McPike House is one of the most beautiful. Many people think the home was built prior to the Civil War but it was not. The house was not finished until the fall of 1869. And right from the start strange things started happening in the house and on the grounds. It is said that when the ground was being cleared to build the house several indian burials were found on the property and moved away. The McPike family claimed that it was almost impossible to build a fire in the house and you get get one built and burning and the fire would just suddenly stop burning.

The family also claimed you could hear a sound at times through out the entire house that sounded like a human heart beating. A priest came several times to bless the house but strange things continued over the years. As the McPike family died out people claimed to see them often in the house and on the grounds. Ghost Hunters and Psychic's who have been to the house say there are many ghosts in and around the house and grounds. One Psychic who supposedly knew nothing about the history of the house claimed to see American Indians in the house who were upset that their graves has been dug up. Other Psychic's have claimed the house is a actual gateway to the other side.
