Haunted Virginia

This is where the high society people used to stay when they visited Virginia Beach. People like F Scott Fitzgerald, Will Rogers, Mary Pickford, Ginger Rogers and many other famous people stayed over the years at the Cavalier Hotel which opened in 1927. Adolph Coors either commited suicide in the hotel by jumping out a sixth floor window or as some people claim he was thrown out the sixth floor window. And many people over the years claim they see the well dressed ghost of Adolph Coors either on the sixth floor or in the hotel lobby.

There is a piano downstairs that plays by its self and it has been seen doing so by many people over the years. Many famous people performed in the area over the years and 10 US Presidents stayed in the hotel over the years and gave speeches in the hotel. Many people over the years have claimed to see Glen Miller setting in the Hunt Room. And there in the Hunt Room is where there has been much paranormal activity going on over the years.

One of the most famous ghosts of the Cavalier Hotel is the ghost of a large yellow cat that people see all the time in the hotel hallways. The cat also meows and scratches at doors and people have complained often even though there has not been a cat alloweed in the hotel in the last 40 years.

The first owner of the hotel shot himself when he learned that Prohibition had been passed. It is claimed that he is the one that rings the bell at the check in desk and has been known to knock things off shelfs and throws papers off desks into the floor.

Over all most ghost hunters agree that the Cavalier Hotel is one of the most haunted places in Virginia.  

It is in this Confederate graveyard near Lebanon Virginia where people see a blazing fire that floats around above the ground and screams at the person or person to get out. Many EVP's have been recorded by Ghost Hunters here over the years.

Many of the EVP's say help me. At least three seperate distinct voices have been recorded saying help me. Orbs are seen all the time at night in the cemetery and a skeleton has been seen numerous times by various people. It walks around the graveyard and people run. Many people have called police to ask if the police would go back with them to get items left in the graveyard when they ran.  

It is inside the soldiers circle that you see in the photo where the ghost of a soldier is seen kneeling and crying. Some people say that the soldier has looked so real that people have gone up to him to see if they can help him in any way. When they get close to him he vanishes.

It is also in this cemetery where a soldier that appears to be from the Confederate era is seen riding a white horse. People say they hear the horses hoofs on the ground and the really strange thing is the horse appears to jump into the air and it and its rider vanish.

A woman dressed in a dress from the 1880's is seen walking at the edge of daylight and just after sundown. She is crying walking along among the grave stones. If anyone comes near her she points at them and vanishes. Some people have claimed to hear her say, Please Robert. Who is she no one knows.
