About Sach's

Sachs covered bridge is still standing today in Adams County Pennsylvania. It was built in 1852 by a builder named David Stoner. It is 100 feet long and has been closed to traffic since 1968. This is the only bridge that is standing in Adam's County that has a Town Lattice Truss.

This bridge was damaged in a flood on June 1996 and the bridge was washed 100 yards downstream. It was repaired and raised 3 feet to prevent that from happening again.

While this is a beautiful bridge that links us to our past, the thing that attracts most people to this bridge is that is has a history of being haunted. It is told that 3 confederate soldiers deserted their unit during the Civil War. Once they were captured they were hung from Sachs Covered bridge.

People who take photos of the inside of the bridge get orbs on their developed photos. And it's been reported that they feel a cold spot inside the bridge.

Is this bridge really haunted from Civil War soldiers? You will have to visit it to find out. It is located in Adams County, Pennsylvania. It is owned by the state and is in a park. You can still walk across the covered bridge and experience it for yourself. You can see photos of the bridge at FMY Photos. It is worth taking a trip to see this bridge from our past and maybe visit a few ghosts.

  • Website update

I am still working on the new website. Hopefully it will be easier to navigate then on Smugmug, where I have the photos hosted at now.It has taken me longer than usual to do the website, there are just so many photos in the collection, that each one needs captioned, and organized. But it's coming along slowly. It has just been taking most of my time just working on the site. But I am happy with the way it looks so far.www.fmyphotos.com - 5 months ago
